Hidden gem. We didn't expect to find this in Grand Marais. High quality beer, delicious, beautifully prepared food, fantastic service, neat building, cool tables, great atmosphere. Had the robust porter (magnificent) and the Brown (good). Split the garlic parmesan popcorn and an order of whitefish tacos with the wife. Popcorn was great and a good value - it came LOADED with garlic and parmesan. The tacos were a total shock. PERFECTLY fried whitefish, gourmet presentation, incredible flavors. Whoever is cooking knows their stuff and should be made Mayor of Grand Marais! Seriously, best fish tacos I've ever had. This one's worth the drive. Pizza, etc all looked good too. FAST service for a crowded...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt definitely has that small town feel but they still treat tourists like regular towns folk. The food is reasonably priced. Most important is that it's delicious. I'm sure the burgers are great, but being this close to the lake, I had to have the fish tacos. They were very delicious and nicely presented. Oh, and they have beer. And, it's really spot on for each brew type. The brown was very drinkable. The pale ale was nice with just a bit of hop bitterness. The wheat was smooth and balanced. Don't miss this place if you're in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe recently camped near this brewery and decided to venture in to see what it was like and drink some beer. It has six of its own beers listed on banners above the bar. We had the hematite stout and the cabin fever esb and both were excellent. We tried the granite brown but didn't care for it. On another visit, we bought a growler of the cabin fever esb and two burger sandwiches and ate at our campsite overlooking Lake Superior. The bartenders were friendly and the service was good and their beers delicious. We look forward to going there again...
