I called 15 minutes prior to closing to see if they had the pop-up camper tire I needed in stock, as my wife, dogs, and two very young kids waited in the truck. They physically laid hands on them before confirming that they had two of them. I told them I was on my way.
When I got there, the cashier had them stacked at the front counter for me, and all I had to do was pick out a jack from their assortment and grab a tire iron and I'd be out the door, on my way to our camper-by-the-highway on this rocky start to a vacation.
I couldn't find the tire irons that were in plain sight, so I asked a man that worked there and he pointed me right to them - that's right, they come in different sizes. I made a guess as to which I'd need and he stopped me to ask if I was sure, as once they closed there'd be no stores open and he wanted to be sure I was in good hands. I went back to the shelf and got one of each.
I can't thank these two enough. I'd gone to a big box store first, thinking they'd be sure to have what I needed. Not only didn't they have it, but their inventory control system (what I'd find online and what employees confirmed in store) said that they had it and even more products like it, but nothing on the shelf. No backstock area to check, and I had a hard time finding any employee to help me (and the first FOUR sent me on to someone else each time). Sam Walton is NOT my family.
This particular FF&H store isn't close to home, but I may stop in more often at the one that is. I am so glad I stopped in that day. P.s. the rest of our...
Read moreWe love shopping at Family Farm & Home. They have a much better selection than smaller mall party stores, which is very handy if you're dealing with special diets or a pet that isn't a cat or dog. They have very reasonable lettuces, run fantastic sales, and offer a membership program that offers discounts. Staff are friendly, helpful, and highly informational, resuscitation when it comes to, for example, brand changes, price increases, or warning about an upcoming change in packaging. They offer a much better selection of farm and farm animal products than other local retailers, plus they have cleaning, automotive, apparel, and home /garden decor as well. But even with the reasonable prices, the great selection, helpful and informative staff, and unexpected items to be found, one of my favorite things FF&H offers customers is consistency. It is very rare that I go to pick up feed or bedding and leave empty handed--product is almost always available, so no hitting multiple stores on my way home from work on a random Tuesday because everyone is waiting for delivery, Family Farm and Home has my back, and for that I am more than happy to recommend them. PS: Grab a bag of Camo Corn while you're waiting on line. Actually, grab 2. You can...

The morning of Friday, May 8, 2020, I called and asked if they had any Isla Brown chicks, the gentleman said yes. I drove 20 miles, Went back to the counter by the chicks, stood there awhile, finally a nice guy, asked me if I needed help? He said he was a mechanic, but he would go find some one to help. There was only 1 other customer in the store? Finally two guys walked up, talking about there days work schedule. They walked right towards me with NO mask on, NO social distancing!!! I stepped back, one of the guys said âI hear you want some chickâ? I said yes, your Isla Browns. The guy corrected me how I pronounced the chicks name. Then I walked to the chicks, the two guys continued to discuss, if one of the guys were going to go to another location, to unload some freight that had been sitting there, for a few days. So I wanted awhile longer. Finally, the guy who corrected my speech, grabbed a box and started loading chicks, I asked the guy if different chicks were in the tub, than the name on the front? he looked at the name and said, oh, I guess these arenât the Isla Brown chicks. The other guy said, yea I sold all those...
