I had to change my review from 4 stars to 2 stars and that's being generous. The prices have gone insane. Broken candle holders, knick knacks, and more that literally belong in the trash were $8+. Kids clothing for over $4, used and dingy is unacceptable...especially you can get it new for $4.50-5 at Walmart and target. They're worth less than $2 at the most. Kids books are mostly ripped.
The store now has a section dedicated to glassware and similar items up front where I'm seeing "vintage" glass pieces with missing lids and such or cracks in them for over $50. You guys are a thrift shop, not antique dealers and resellers. I'm assuming part of the 50%+ increase in prices has to do with resellers or at least partially.
They offer discounts on certain colors tags daily however they pull 99% of those colors off of the racks so essentially the discount doesn't even exist.
Bed sheets and throw blankets used to be $4 and under. They're now $10/15 for USED items.
I do understand making money to pay employees and for the programs. But you're also asking people to round up their change to donate..when you do this, THEY write it off on their taxes so be aware in case that's something you don't agree with.
I can go 3 months without visiting, walk in and see the same items for sale from the last visit. Not sure if people just aren't donating as much or if it's because prices are completely out of control.
I will say, the store has become cleaner and more organized than the past years. There is a new rewards program too where you get points that turn into money for the store. Hopefully that actually...
Read moreI absolutely love this store!!!!!
It is not my favorite VOA. My favorite VOA is mine but I would put this as my second favorite.
I have never walked into this store and walked back out empty-handed!
I was recently diagnosed with being a diabetic and I am taking the shots which as a side effect you lose a lot of weight rapidly.
My doctor suggested that I don't go out and buy new clothes. It's too expensive. She said just go to your local thrift store and purchase your cloths!
I told her I pretty much already did!
So with that said since June of last year I've lost 100 lb and I've gone down four sizes and no not my entire wardrobe has been purchased at VOA but I would say a good 75% has.
Also, I buy purses which there's a funny story there. We were in the store and I had a brand new meaning I purchased it brand new purse. I was using it for the first time that day was just standing there and the clip that holds the purse broke.
I was with my sister and she said well we'll just have to buy a new one. I'm walking over looking at the purses in the store and wouldn't you know they sell them. I purchased two that day, since then. A few more and without cut the tag off, wiped it down and put it on. My person used it...
