Went for an innocent outing with my birthday party. Left stressed and burnt out with all the drama that unfolded inside and outside the Butler skateland property. Granted it was family night on a Saturday night, and there was a line out the door when we got there around 7:30. But before even getting to the door there was security at the parking lot entrance and were asked if we had any kids? We did not, boat so that was the only reason we were able to come in and park. We joined the line, thankfully a few of our friends of our birthday party were already inside. In the long line there is security checking you in people were budging in line. We paid for admission met with our friends. Once you walk inside it was a bit chaotic with children running around or skating around bumping into you. On Saturdays there's unlimited pizza and soda, which is nice but again it was so crowded. Crowded couldn't really enjoy any of the food or drink. Once you lace up and you are out on the rink, the chaos just elevated. You can tell it is a community and it's nice to see a community come together through roller skating but not at the expense of bumping into you or tripping you so they can look good for their video recordings. Many skaters would pass by me and bump into me or touch me to get past me and I did not appreciate that. There are referees on the ring that do try to help. There is also extra security around the rink as well. They also managed to stuff a balloon house right next to the rink, which made me extremely anxious for children would just run it in and out and overlap with the rink. I took a break off the rink just to cool down. Trying to cool down , I witnessed two fights with two different sets of people. In one of the fights, one of my friends within my birthday party got accidentally hit while the two people fighting were being escorted by security. After the fights I decided to call it and the rest of my birthday party left. Frankly disappointed. It should also be noted that a few of my friends got turned away, for around 8:00. The parking lot was full and security was not letting extra people in. roller skate with caution at...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at this skating rink and will never return.
At first, everything was fun — the music was good, and the atmosphere seemed lively. However, about three laps in, the traffic on the rink started moving faster, so I picked up my speed to keep up. As I gained momentum, the wheel on my rental skate came completely off, nearly causing me to fall in the middle of the crowded rink.
I was terrified. I panicked and tried to reach the wall to sit down safely, but I couldn’t stop easily with so many skaters behind me. I ended up colliding with another skater, who thankfully caught me and helped me sit down. It was extremely nerve-wracking, especially since I’m not a regular skater — and this turned what should have been a fun experience into a very stressful and dangerous one.
The fact that a wheel came off mid-skate clearly shows that management does not properly inspect or maintain their rental skates for safety. This could have caused serious injuries not just to me, but to other skaters on the rink.
When I reported the incident to the manager, his response was extremely unprofessional. He casually said, "These are used skates — things like that happen," without even asking if I was okay or offering any form of apology. His attitude showed a complete lack of concern for customer safety and well-being.
Because of the unsafe equipment and poor management response, I will not be returning and I will make sure to share my experience with others. I highly recommend anyone considering visiting this rink to be cautious — check your skates carefully or better yet, consider...
Read moreI went there on Thursday, from 6-8 family skate.i brought my 5yo daughter who has never roller skated before.admission is cheap my daughter and I got admission, and rental skates for $22.00 total.the atmosphere was nice and clean.rental skates where clean and well maintained. All staff were professional and courteous.Warning the music is LOUD.( Playlist was mostly new hiphop censored no curse words) Throuout the night ratio was 80/20 15yo and up. Maybe 10 kids to 40 adults. They do rent stabilizers for beginners for an additional $5.i would definitely suggest for a kids first time it boosted my girls confidence and wanted to skate on her own after getting the hang of things. All in all I would go again my daughter said she had alot of fun! Oh yeah there are also 2 bouncy houses for the kiddos if they get bored with skating. My only complaint ( not really) was the music was a bit loud.but my daughter didn't complain so maybe I'm just getting old. We will be trying the skateland in Waukesha next...
