I stayed at this property while visiting a friend from Thursday, 12-14-24 thru Saturday, 12-16-23. Personal trip + work. As you can see from my video, the room appeared to be decent upon entry. Unfortunately, that was not the case after further inspection.
It had been a long day with work & travel plus adjusting to time change. It crossed my mind to asked to be moved to another room, but I didn't for a few reasons. 1. I was tired. 2. The person who checked me in wasn't the most enthusiastic, so I wasn't taking the chance of that turning into a negative experience. 3. If I was moved to another room that was just as bad, I was going to be upset.
Not sure what housekeeping is doing, but that bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned at all! Cleaning the toilet goes far beyond cleaning the inside of the toilet bowl. There were nasty spots on the outside of the toilet; the base wasn't clean. Only God knows what was in the floor near the corner of the shower. I noticed hair as soon as I put the floor mat down to shower. Seeing those baseboards, I couldn't believe this was a Hilton property. You don't have to clean baseboards daily, but clearly these hadn't been touched in a very long time. There were spots on the shower curtain & hair in the shower. There was something dark on the sink right behind the faucet. I have no idea what it was & I wasn't trying to find out. There were black spots on the tile in the shower. I don't think it was mold. I think it was residue from a person or something they used in the shower but no one actually touched the tile to clean it.
The bed was comfortable. However, the spots on the headboard were gross. With it being upholstery, the stains may just come out with a little product and elbow grease. It was evident that the spots had been there a while and no one even tried to do anything. Just make the bed and throw the pillows on top.
Breakfast was from 6 am - 10 am. What gave this review 3 stars instead of 2 was the breakfast and the breakfast attendant. She spoke to everyone. She made sure there was no cross contamination with the tongs. If you needed help with the waffle iron, she assisted you. I think there was a problem with turning the mini waffle iron; she helped me to turn it & said it would probably be going out of service as she had trouble turning it too and showed me how she had been burned earlier.
There was a full size & a mini waffle iron with malted vanilla or blueberry battery; plenty of topping choices to include whipped cream. I enjoyed the quality but spreadable butter. I didn't try any bakery items, but there were plenty of muffins, bread choices, and I believe banana bread and another bread that appeared to have cranberries in it. I can't eat oatmeal but there was some available. No juice in the juice machine on Fri, but the attendant offered to bring you some orange juice if you wanted it; the machine was available on Sat.
On Fri, the hot bar had cheese omelets, bacon, and pancakes. I enjoyed the omelets; the bacon was a little salty. On Sat, there was scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and redskin potatoes. There was a good selection of cold cereal with 2% & skim milk; ran out of 2% on Sat. They also had fruit (bananas; apples; oranges). Besides the bananas, the fruit wasn't sweet.
The 3rd shift person wasn't behind the front desk when I came in but was nice enough to offer to put my drink on my room's tab without making me wait to scan it. I overslept a little after breakfast on Sat. I called the front desk a few minutes before noon to let them know I wouldn't be downstairs right at noon but I'd be checking out shortly. A few minutes after noon, housekeeping was checking to see if I was staying over. I told him I was on my way out. By 12:10 pm, I was downstairs, dropping my key in the box. Sat in the lobby waiting for my friend to pick me up as a few others lingered in the same area. That's when I noticed the TVs in that space.
I'd return again when in the city, but some improvements are needed. Commotion in the hallway Sat around 7:10 am; woke...
Read moreOn 10/18/2025 through 10/20/2025, I stayed at Hampton Inn (who is part of the Hilton hotel company) in Milwaukee. I used the Hotels.com app to purchase my room for my girlfriend’s birthday and weekend getaway. I get to the hotel and was asked if I knew about the $250 deposit and I said no I wasn’t. I told her in fact the room was paid for in advance and there was nothing on the Hotels.com receipt about me paying any deposit. Their website says the price I see, including taxes is what I would pay for. The receptionist told me that in order to get my room I would have to either pay a cash deposit that I could get back after my stay or place a hold on my bank card or credit card. But there was a sign on their desk that stated “No cash deposit will be refunded.” I questioned that and got a made up answer about that sign. Now, I’m stuck in a situation because I had dinner reservations for my girlfriend’s birthday so I had them place a hold on my card. Also, I never had to pay any additional fees anywhere I’ve stayed before. Next, Hotels.com falsely advertised the hotel and room their website. It looked absolutely Nothing like it was shown on the website from the outside to inside of the hotel. In the parking lot, there was a police camera with the blue light flashing. For the room I was supposed to have with a king sized bed, it’s was supposed to be spacious and have a couch and closet in it. When I got into my room it was the exact opposite of everything I was expecting. I went back downstairs and the hotel receptionist told me they didn’t have any room like that when I showed her what was on the Hotels.com app. So, I go back up to the room frustrated, so I called Hotels.com and then here comes more issues. I had to switch rooms 3 times upon arrival! The first room’s toilet didn’t flush, the second room smelled like someone smoked in it a few hours before we got there and it’s supposed to be a smoke free hotel, the third room was dirty, had tape on the walls, the rug smelled bad and was sticky, dirty, and had confetti on it like it was never cleaned to begin with! I argued with the front desk about this and Hotel.com over the phone but got absolutely no resolution. I stayed because I had plans to get to our dinner reservation. The next day, I called for clean towels, no one came, I walked down the hall with my dirty towels and my trash to ask housekeeping for some and she said she didn’t have any but would bring some soon as the laundry was finished washing and drying them. I’ve NEVER been to a hotel that runs out of clean linen so early in the day! How can housekeeping even clean when they don’t have the necessary items to properly clean any of the rooms in the hotel?? I left for a my plans only to come back to my room and there were no clean towels and my room hadn’t been cleaned either. I had to go downstairs to get some. I complained about that and this was the only sorry about that I got with all the issues on Saturday night (zero apologies) and what happened Sunday. I had to do the job of the workers, they get paid to do. I can tell they can do whatever they want because they didn’t do their actual jobs, not even halfway.A few of the workers weren’t even in uniform! I don’t get paid to do their jobs. There were some rowdy people banging on doors at 4:30am to get into a room that had woke us up because it was so loud I thought they were banging on our door. I wasn’t even given a discount from the Hampton Inn for all these inconveniences! I was disgusted and disappointed by the Hampton Inn Milwaukee Northwest and Hotels.com! As a Hilton Honors member, I’ll never stay at any brand of Hilton hotels again and I’ll never use Hotels.com...
Read moreThis was horrible, I do not know where to start. My boyfriend wanted to surprise me with a Birthday weekend getaway to Milwaukee. We stayed at the Hampton Inn. He booked the room via Hotels.com. Upon arrival the hotel was NOTHING like he showed me in the pictures via Hotels.com. He pre-paid for the room so he didn't have to worry about paying at the end of the trip. When checking in he was informed of an incidental deposit of $250 which he was unaware of. He was told he could pay cash and get it back after checking out. In 2025 I didn't know a hotel deposit was still required. I just stayed at the Westin in Aug. 2025 and didn't have to pay a deposit upon checking in. When we arrived in our room he was SUPER disappointed because as I stated the room did not look like the pictures. The room did not have a closet and did not have a couch per what he booked. As he got our belongs I went to the rest room which the toilet did not flush. So back down stairs he went to get another room, now we are on our way to room #2 AS SOON as we walked in it smelled like smoke. Neither of us smoke so we instantly knew that was a NO for us. He is now on the phone with Hotel.com and also trying to get yet another room. Here we are on our 3rd room, there was tape on the wall possibly from someone hanging decorations and confetti on the floor. As he is on the phone with Hotels.com I took off my shoes to walk to the bathroom, the carpet felt icky, that's the best way I can describe it and my feet became instantly dirty. Later that night the room started smelling funny and I realized that it was the smell of old dirty carpet that hasn't been shampooed. The people on our floor in the room across the hall & next door were LOUD.. Beating on the door at 4:30a. We asked for more towels, spent the entire day out and came back to NONE so we had to take dirty towels & garbage to housekeeping. Some would say why not leave well 1. he had paid for the room and it would take 3-10 days for his money to be returned. 2. We are in a city we know nothing about. hotels.com nor Hampton Inn/Hilton was accommodating and we BOTH are Hilton Honors Members. During check out they had a sign that said no cash deposit refunds. WTH why offer that if you are not going to provide people with the money you said they can get returned. This is why I stick to Marriott now because of the lack of empathy or sympathy for the situation. Lastly the night we arrived we had dinner reservation which we were late for due to all of the unnecessary inconvenience AND people were hanging out in front of the hotel. Some were even smoking.. This is the WORST experience I have ever had at a hotel and I have been from Europe to the Caribbeans, from Seattle to New York and everything in between. This was very upsetting to my boyfriend because it ruined the Birthday experience he tried to provide me. DO...
