When compared to other nurseries in the area they have a much more robust selection. Not only in plants but in other products. However they fall way short in customer service. They have some of the rudest most nastiest workers I have ever encountered. I was told to pull around the store and that a worker would put the mulch into my vehicle. I waited back there for 10 minutes and no one ever came, so I finally called. An angry young guy comes out grabs the mulch bouncing it over his head and snapped at me saying "this is as light as can be, I don't know why I had to get this for you". Another time I had a question about some flowers and was told to speak to the person in Perennials. I have encountered this person twice and every single time she is rude, nasty, insulting, demeaning and condescending. First of all seeming upset that you even bother to ask her a question, but then mocking you for having such "dumb questions". She's supposed to be the professional and knowledgeable one, it's very ridiculous for her to expect the general public to be on her so-called level. This same woman I saw speaking to an Asian person who spoke perfect English and she started yelling at her, "I don't understand anything you are saying to me". Uncalled for and over the top. I have just way too many rude encounters here every single time I go, more than just the ones mentioned. I drive their happy but then leave upset. I really wanted to like this place but customer service matters and it's lacking here. I guess for a time they will be able to continue operating like this because they are a big fish in a little pond and competition isn't too steep but it will not always be that way. Go somewhere else first, even a chain box store if you can help it before wasting...
Read moreA week ago my family and I went to look for some new plants. We spent about an hour there and not one staff member approached us asking if we needed help. (Which we did) Going through the Racine greenhouse I noticed a lot of their plants had mealy bugs and scale on their plants. Being a avid gardener I knew how to clean up the plants I did purchase. But what really made this shopping experience make me not want to come back was the cashier we had. There were two cashiers. One cashier was checking out a customer while the second cashier had her back towards us facing the front doors sitting on her cell phone. My family pointed out that she was open and we approached the register. The cashier named Dayzi Didn’t even look up from her phone and just continued to pay attention to her phone. Our family looked confused and when she did look up she rolled her eyes and looked back at her phone and put the phone in the drawer by her. During the whole check out process not once did she say a word. She didn’t even tell me the total of my purchase. I almost wanted to walk out the store. I paid for my items and she put the plants in a bag and just pushed it forward. I asked to have tissue put over the plants as it was cold and we were traveling over an hour back home. She grab 1 piece of tissue and just smooshed it on top my plants. She didn’t even say thank you for stoping or anything but turned around and went back to her phone. I doubt we will ever come back to this location as it seems to be every times we have visited the indoor plants are always full of bugs and some of the staff there don’t seem to care about their customers and...
Read moreI had Milaegers landscaping come to my home for a quote to remove old bushes and plant new. After paying the down payment I did not hear back from them, after two weeks of waiting, I decided to contact them via email asking when the project would be started - the response I received was "August". Not a specific day or even week, just sometime in the month of August. I got an email the morning that they began informing me that they were starting that day. In in the meantime, I had emailed several questions regarding specific plants, additional options, and plant care; I would ask 4 questions in an email and receive an answer to one, it was extremely frustrating. I came home early from work to check on the progress and the workers were literally sleeping on my front porch! It was most likely their lunch hour, but I don't think sleeping on my property was acceptable. They also left behind garbage from their lunch and a spit cup used for chewing tobacco. As the guys were finishing up, I noticed that a tree was missing, so I attempted to ask the workers-no one spoke English. I emailed the contractor and he said it was on back order and they would plant it when it comes in - I think that would have been something they should have told me in the first place. I really expected more from Milaegers, especially considering the high price of...
