My boyfriend lives right down the street of this bakery in Douglas Ave. I'm from Chicago. My boyfriend takes pride of the quality of food here so he got me to buy and spend 100 dollars of money from your bakery to share the food to my friends and family back in Chicago. However, for the past 3 orders, they've been messing up our orders. They used different bread for a breakfast sandwich we ordered and we were never told first about it. Then the 2nd time, the croissant were all burnt. Then the last one, I ordered 7 hamlets, but the 2 with bacon added. But they only made 2, so I had to wait longer for the other 5. I was the one who ordered so I'm pretty sure i would know how many hamlets i needed. I told the lady who rang me up all the unfortunate things that had happened with our orders and all she could say was, "Oh. Ok." Then, "Happy Friday. " in a sarcastic way. No apologies or anything. After 40 plus years of ordering their products for family, friends and associates at the holidays the time has come to move on. This years order that I received was less than satisfactory at best. Not at all like the norm. The pecan Kringle was dry and the icing was applied heavily on one side and 3 narrow lines of icing on the other. The blueberry and raspberry were not dry or stale. The icing issue applied to the 3 I received and also the two each that my son and daughter’s family’s received. There was also dried hard white icing all inside the packaging. The plastic that should cover the kringles inside the bags was folded up and only covering a small portion of each of the Kringle.
