I was engagement ring shopping with my boyfriend. We did research and decided on an alternative stone for OUR engagement ring. We did not want a diamond. The first two stores were wonderfully supportive of our decision to use a non-traditional stone. Knights, however, left a bitter taste in our mouth. We came in and told the associate what we wanted and she immediately told us that we didn’t want something other than a diamond. We ensured her we had done our research and we did indeed want an alternative stone. The next fifteen minutes she continually put diamond rings on my hand. When I would ask my boyfriend how he thought it would look with another stone replacing the diamond the associate would then say things like “You don’t want that. Trust me.”, “That’s the wrong decision.” When she realized she was not going to convince me to change my mind she then began trying to convince my boyfriend saying “You can buy her all the other gemstones you want for other jewelry. Just not for an engagement ring.” When she realized that was not going to work she reluctantly tried to push a blue sapphire as an alternative but made sure we knew she was not pleased with even that. However, sapphire was a stone I told her multiple times was not what I wanted. At this point we asked to see heirloom jewelry which was another option for us. She then brought over another associate to help us. This associate was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt which I found very unprofessional when meeting with customers who plan to spend thousands of dollars at your store. She was a little more helpful than the first associate but did not seem too interested in our business and suggested we look online and find a picture of what we want and they can order it. Needless to say we left and took our business elsewhere. Not only did they lose our sale for the engagement ring but the store we ended up going with will also receive our business for both wedding bands and any other jewelry gift items in the future. I hope our situation was the exception and not the rule for Knights. I have never left a bad review anywhere before. But the way a special day for us was ruined, by someone who should have desired our business, called for action. I hope they can take this review as a wake up call. Not everyone will want a diamond engagement ring and it’s ultimately up to the couple to decide what is...

11/2/18 Extremely disappointed after having gone here for years, I have gotten repairs done, watch batteries replaced, and bought some nice pieces of jewelry there. I prefer a small business over a mall jewelry store. Unfortunately I sent my daughter there to purchase a piece of jewelry (which she had money for in the bank and would have purchased that day) and to get a repair done. But she came home in tears, she described her interaction with the lady who was extremely rude. Then she described what she looked like (old lady, short blond hair, gravelly smoker voice) I realized this was the owner! She needs to give it up and let her daughter take over the business. We will never be back and we will never recommend them again. There is no excuse for being rude and nasty.
Previous review: Knights is a great little family owned jewelry store that has been in business a long time. They have a wide variety of jewelry and watches as well as some estate pieces. They also change watch batteries and do repairs. We have been so happy doing...
Read moreBev Knight is THE BEST jeweler in central Delaware. She custom designed this wedding ring for me when I wanted something that looked like a wrap, but was one piece. She is honest, gives great value, and has beautiful and unique pieces in her inventory, including estate jewelry. I wouldn’t let anyone but her service my jewelry and I know beyond the shadow of a doubt I will always get high quality, lovingly chosen pieces and fantastic...
