I've been here several times. I'm not going to lie, the food is hit or miss. The employees often seem to not care, and I get it. It's probably not the most glamorous job. But one thing I expect from Chipotle, is at least for them to get their RICE right. It's RICE. The base of all great Tex-Mex dishes... and today... that was the worst rice I and my girlfriend have ever had. It was crunchy, yet mushy and soft in bunches, and floury almost as if it hadn't been washed before being cooked. It ruined both of our bowls to the point, that I begrudgingly decided that this was worth asking for a refund for. As I went back in with my two ruined bowls, I approached the register at which a shorter blonde girl with jeans on was checking out a customer. As soon as she was done, she stared at me and I told her that I was hoping to speak to the manager. My aim was to have a quiet discreet conversation with them about the food, not to make a scene, or make the employees uncomfortable... but to just address my issue. This employee chose to then walk a few feet from the register, and with a condescending tone yelled back "He wants to speak to the MANAGERRR" very loudly. Then stared at me as the manager approached me. The manager was very understanding and offered that they had replaced the rice and I could have two new bowls made. I chose to ask for a refund, not forcefully, but seeing if she could accommodate me. Which she was nice enough to do. She was very professional and understanding. As my refund was processed, she offered and apology again for the bad food, at which point the blonde girl loudly said to her in a demanding tone "Don't say that! Why would you say that?!" at which point I just stared at her in disbelief. I wasn't going to make a scene, because it wasn't worth it... however, I have never before seen a employee think that they can speak to a manager like that, especially in front of a customer. it was completely uncalled for, and not only that, truthfully, if I was in her position... grounds for a warning or TERMINATION. I don't think that we will be back to this location until things LOOK UP. Thank you again for the kind service the...
Read moreWell to say the least it was a disappointment go to the new chipotle. We arrived and saw nothing but dirty tables with cheese and sour cream on them. We waited in line observing the new restaurant and liked what we saw. As we got closer to ordering I observed that the staff of 4 in the back weren’t moving with any eagerness as the line was close to out the door. The staff appeared to be confused more focused on the outside and not paying attention to people requesting things for there order. I had one person in front of me who started to order and saw that the spoon wasn’t even filled with rice when placed in there bowl. I thought oh maybe it fell off and she would give another scoop. Well I was sadly mistaken that was the portion she was giving everyone even me. You go to Dover and when you get home you open the lid and it’s covered in your order being packed to the top. Camden well let’s just say I had very minor sour cream on the lid. They were running out of chicken and had only just thrown more chicken on the grill making people either have to wait for it to be fully cooked or order another meat. I get there new, but it was extremely disorganized and appeared like they weren’t even trained just thrown in the line to make orders. When I got home my food was cold not even room temp. I get it from Dover and get back to Home to Felton and it’s still hot. CRAZY!! WON’T be going back!! Below is what the call a BURRITO...
Read more**Updating my review from 1 to 3 stars because they have been better over the last few months. I gave them another try for the convenience of the location and because they are one of the only local options in Camden to grab a hearty, plant-based lunch. They still need to work on their attention to detail with portioning and tidying up, but each visit reveals they're making good progress.
Original review from 22 April 2022:
Naw, I'm actually mad about this Chipotle; TRASH! These folks were really open mouth chit chatting and laughing above the food they were prepping, they just opened and are out of food pulling straps together, and there were pieces of the avocado shell along with a produce sticker in the guacamole. I told the guy working and he quickly acknowledged it then shrugged it off like it was normal...sadness.
I came here before and thought they were having a rough day [accounting for the gray guacamole and horrible attitudes...double sadness] so I waited a month before coming back and making a review. Long story short, this location is filthy and the staff is careless. Whoever the hiring manager is and whoever is responsible for quality checking the line or ANY form of management for this place needs to be removed for a serious overhaul because they are making the entire Chipotle...
