Terrible experience! I have been coming to Bear market for awhile now and have never experienced such rudeness from an employee. Yesterday, (11-11-24), I took my big items to the spot where I drop them off, stood in a very long line. The younger lady I checked my things in was very nice and helpful. Then I went with her to check in my larger items, and I told her what price I wanted to put on an item, this man, probably in his upper thirties, whom thought he was just it, yelled, and said no way are you going to sell that here, making a big deal about it. He was wearing jeans and a black sleeveless shirt (checking items in). He made such a big deal about the item and was just so rude. It was not necessary at all. I never once was rude to him and people like him should be working in the back where they do not have to have good customer service. He should be fired and shouldnât be able to work out where customers are! I couldnât even go and look around in the store, I was so mad about how this store even hires employees who treat their customers like trash. And if it wasnât for the customers, he wouldnât even have a job, or anyone in there! So if I were the owner, I would get my employees in check and only hire people...
Read moreThis is a very interesting place but do come with plenty of time to burn, you do NOT want to hurry through here! It is part consignment, part rummage sale, part thrift store and for the most part, the prices range from crazy good to you're kidding me? The people are also very interesting, before we moved here from SoCal, I had never seen a Mennonite, much less a bunch of them in a group, going through all the racks of kids clothes like happy little locusts. There are some folks that you know are hoarders and smell like it. Then there are the occasional visitors to the lake who have money and pick up the pricey stuff without blinking an eye! There is a good section of used furniture and if you are a project person, come here before you go anywhere else. And if you see something you like pick it up IMMEDIATELY or kiss it good bye. I have seen many treasures there and I have thought to myself "I'll be back for that" and sometimes, before I even leave the store, it's gone. There are books, magazines, random crazy things, vintage and old collectibles and everything in between. And on busy days, someone is walking around offering customers, free bags of freshly popped...
Read moreNormally i live love bear market. I travel almost an hour and a half to go there. I always spend more than $50(closer to $100) but today i had a terrible experience. As i stood in line about the 30th person, i observed 2 blondes that obviously work there, ignoring the growing line and only 2 registers open manned by what looked like my grandsons..the 2 women lollygagged for a good 20 minutes before one said i guess ill open another register..good guess lady..i honestly wanted to walk up hand her my items and walk out. I am normally a patient person but by the time i got up to the register there were at least 50 people in line behind me..in the 25+ years i have been going never waited but maybe 6 people in line.Lets get some folks in there that recognize a line and jump in to help..the laziness astonishes me. I guess next time ill bring a person to stand in line while i...
