I've left TD&G a 5 star review before but with no explanation.
I've been to this family business enough times to get a sense that they are sincere, honest people.
I've bought pearls, Fossil watches, amongst other items and have never felt judgement. I noticed there are a couple of bad reviews and it's disappointing. However, know this before going in: They are human beings with their own lives going on outside of that store. If you feel you are treated unfairly, I would at least allow them an in-person conversation to let them explain. Some grace goes a long way.
Also, communication over the phone doesn't always translate well when it's relayed to others by a third party. I've always been told if I bought a watch there they will cover damages if it occurred during a battery change. If you didn't buy it there and have it only serviced by them, then I don't believe they'd tell anyone they're not responsible for damages. How can they know it's not already damaged? Good rule to follow is to ask specific questions while in the store because they have a right to change what they charge.
I cannot say I KNOW the owners but I am familiar with Kathleen. I went in there again today and was treated so kindly I felt emotional. (Personal story will not be shared here.) Her husband was very nice when he came to the front and didn't treat me with indifference. The other lady and gentleman were also kind.
I love this business. Sensory wise (for those with ASD) it's bright but so very pretty in there with all of the sparkling going on. If you don't like bright, wear some shades for all of their bling! It's gorgeous and the smell in there is...
Read more1 star. I respect the fact of how nice the staff were but at the same time they were so oblivious of the situation. The situation was me turning in 2 watches for a battery change. One G-shock Casio and one Festina watch from France. I received both watches with discrepancies, the second hand was completely off the axis on the Festina and the G-shock had both bands broken. I tried to explain both of these problems and only got dumbfounded answers for the outcome. After confrontation I was told that the price for changed batteries would be $15 apiece when I was originally told $15 for the Festina and $10 for the G-shock. After all I was still charged. Also evidently when turning in your watches for a battery change, they are not at fault for any damages that may be caused from their handling. I was nice and respectful and I never do reviews but this...
