We were really looking forward to having Mother's Day Brunch at the Hungry Run Distillery after seeing their menu. Especially the bagel and donut wall (did not have), fritatta station (did not have), grilled meats (did not have), assortments of benedicts (did not have), and interactive mashed potato station with assorted toppings (did not have). It seemed a little pricey at $65 per person, but we were willing to pay for all of those items. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed that none of those items were on the one food table (you couldn't even call it a buffet). What we did get was scrambled eggs, bacon, cut-up pieces of fruit, pieces of bagel, glazed donuts, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and bread pudding. There might have been two other items, but the small plates were empty. There was coffee, but no cups until we asked for them. I would have loved to have tasted the ONE mimosa that you were allowed, but the black curly hair on top of my glass kept me from it. They were extremely disorganized. When we approached the bar to request our drinks, we were told we needed tickets. We were not given tickets. We were told they were on our table. They were not on our table. The bartender skipped over us and went to the next person. We looked at our table...candle, flowers, napkins, No tickets. After a few minutes, an employee threw two tickets at us and said to the bartender, "The tickets were on their table." Obviously, they weren't. Most employees were pleasant. MOST. Some were downright rude. We could hear the same sentiments from the people sitting around us. The food was fine, but not what was advertised. Way overpriced for what was served. And some people thought it was false advertising. So my mother thought she would inquire as to why almost none of the items were being served. She was told they "transitioned" from the original menu. Huh. "Transitioned." We've never heard that one before. Forty-five years in the F&B business, and that's what they call downgrading the entire menu?!?! They really should be ashamed for charging $65 for scrambled eggs & bacon. Cross this one...
Read moreThis place is fantastic. We loved everything about this establishment.
The staff is friendly and we enjoyed conversing with them while trying many products before sitting down for a drink and some food.
All their products are good but they know how to make a great mixed drink. The old fashion is fantastic (one of the best we have ever had) and so is their tea. You can also get mixed drinks flight which is very cool and the first we have seen that. The meatballs are great and the food we saw look very good as well.
There is a side tasting bar, main bar room and a nice lounge area. Upstairs, there is little lounge areas, a closed balcony area, dining/lounge area and another dinning room. They also have a patio.
The place is a beautifully renovated old brick building and keeps the classic look with exposed brick, big fireplace, wood stairs, and high ceilings. The classic style is mixed with a warm modern rustic feel that is comfortable and elegant. We loved everything the modern retro wallpaper.
This is their third location but I don’t know if we need to visit the other two after coming here. We will be...
Read moreI've had the pleasure of stopping by Hungry Run w my friends Mike 'Herman' and Tim Scott every other week. The ambiance of the cocktail bar is always top-shelf vibes, Kate, our server, is a delightful present lass—always attentive & cheerful. And then there's Sarah, Her presence reminds me of Emily Browning's charm w a dash of cocktail magic.
The menu is a culinary love letter to your taste buds—whether it’s the smoky flavors of their wood-fired specialties or the fresh, local ingredients in their seasonal dishes. Pair it all w their award-winning wines (you'll feel like you're drinking liquid gold , but without the risk of turning into a Midas-esque statue). You’ve got an evening that feels like a celebration every time. Hungry Run is more than just a place to eat it’s a gem.
Highly recommend—just don’t take my seat...
