This old theater is beautiful inside, and the decor and architecture add to its vintage appeal. The movies shown here are not first-run movies, but more of a theatrical and artistic appeal (as in arthouse films). There are also classic and educational movies shown as well. Even with 900 seats, it is hard to find a bad one! The theater is run as a non-profit, but that does not mean it doesn't need your patronage. Donations are greatly appreciated. The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars to this review is the fact that the screen is not big enough. I guess big screen showings have spoiled me, but the atmosphere here is still enjoyable. Do an internet search for the current movie listings at this theater and treat yourself to a fun night out! Update 02/18/22 - Stepped back into this theater to see a cover band TUSK. The theater is looking a little shabby, with it's uncomfortable and slightly matronly decor seats. The music was good; the vocals not so much. Too much like a bar situation and not a concert. Check out this gem in downtown Carlisle and see for yourself. They don't make them like...

The Carlisle Theatre is a beautifully restored historic gem that captures both the charm and spirit of a bygone era. The venue itself is stunning ~ from its vintage architecture to its warm, slightly haunted ambiance that adds to the magic of the experience.

The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming, making the entire visit feel special from start to finish. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Victoria Price, daughter of the legendary Vincent Price, which made the evening even more memorable.

The theatre’s mix of classic and modern film showings offers something for everyone, and the attention to detail in preserving its historic character is truly impressive. A visit to The Carlisle Theatre is not just a night out ~ it’s an experience. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates film, history, and a touch of...

The Carlisle Theater truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was captivated by the historic charm and inviting atmosphere. The show itself was nothing short of spectacular, with a talented cast delivering powerful performances that kept me on the edge of my seat. The production value was top-notch, and the stage design was visually stunning. What truly impressed me was the affordability. The ticket prices were very reasonable, making it accessible for a wide range of audiences. Additionally, the snacks and popcorn were surprisingly cheap, allowing me to enjoy the show without breaking the bank. If you're looking for a night out filled with exceptional entertainment, I highly recommend visiting the Carlisle Theater. It's a hidden gem that offers a truly...

I am a regular patron at Carlisle Theatre performances; however, this weekend, I had the opportunity to provide event support to my client, Cantate Carlisle, during the Spring concerts. The space and stage were great for the performance. The staff - including Ashley and Amanda - were gracious, pleasant to work with, and willing to serve us even when we realized errors in our own specifications for the rental. On weekends, parking is typically pretty easy, and the Theatre is easily navigable for patrons with mobility issues. It was a great two-day event, and we will happily continue our annual rental of the Theatre for our performances.
