I used to think this was a great place... My oldest son invited me out to meet him there one evening, and I actually put on skates when I got there and skates fell once. Lol.. anyways I ask a a lady if I could see the phone she had cause it looked pretty cool, (it was the lady serving snacks) it remained in her hands all I did was tap the Android version in the setting menu, and make the little graphic thing pop up. She claimed I destroyed her phone, had husband go over to me, and then got the police involved, I was treated like I actually did something wrong, I was just visitating with my son, i was minding my own business just chilling in a booth talking with my kid..... I was searched twice, questioned about so many different things... I even offered to buy the phone from them and they could get a new one, to he actually made me leave, threw me out and I had to get my son to bring me my jacket and grab my phone for me... I already deal with severe Depression and Anxiety disorder,. And my son was so disappointed, and there was nothing wrong with the lady's phone at all whatsoever, I think they was just tryna get some money out of someone or something... Bad thing was I wasn't even giving time to call a ride... I was told to get off there property... So if you got children and you not from that area I wouldn't suggest bringing your kids up there.... They treated me like I was the scum of the earth man, I guess they think it's alright to treat those with a somewhat sort of disability, any way they feel like... I remember it used to have nice people working there when I skated as a teen, things change though, and people can be cruel to those less fortunate than themselves and think it's funny to probably,. My son wouldnt talk to me for a week, at least I gave the place 1 star,. I suggest going to dazzels or sparkles because I know they treat there customers with respect, and kindness,. I stand by my word I was miss treated,. And wasn't even refunded my money either.... Escorted out the door and told to leave.... I had to beg just to give my son a hug and tell him I...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about Spinnerz. We had a birthday party here for my six year old son, and while he had fun, I won't book another party here again.
The 45 minutes allotted for the party room was not enough to allow guests to arrive, get their skates, eat, have cake, and open presents. It was all very rushed. The employee that helped with the party was very nice, but most of the other people we encountered were rude.
The guy in charge of the music was playing songs that were highly inappropriate for a child's birthday party. Save the songs with the F-word, n-word, and b-word for the evening skate times that are filled with an older crowd. At one point, we asked if he could play some kid friendly songs (as we weren't the only child's party there), and he simply said that he didn't have any.
After taking all of our party items (food, presents, cake, decorations, etc), we had to move to the tables outside the party room, which was expected. What I didn't expect was for the employees to tell us that we could only use one side of one table. There were plenty of tables available, and with 10-20 parents/grandparents in attendance, where was everyone supposed to go? It seemed a bit ridiculous when the other tables were empty, and no one else was using them.
Be aware that the trainers/skating "walkers" were not included in the party price, which isn't mentioned anywhere when booking the party. They ask you to itemize every other thing (number of attendees, number of pizzas, number of drinks, etc), but these are never mentioned. Maybe I was wrong to assume that they were included for a child's party, but was shocked when they wanted to charge $2 on top of the $150 we were paying to skate. When I asked if they could be added to my party amount, the young guy behind the desk said no. I didn't have enough cash on hand to pay for each guest, and I was embarrassed that some guests had to pay for their own. Overall, my son had a good time, but I left with a bad taste...
Read moreI've been to PLENTY of roller rinks in my days, even managed & ran one for more than a decade. This rink is decent sized but has so much more potential. You barely can tell it exists though. No signage by the road or anything to tell you it's there. Just by walking in, you can most certainly tell it's dated. No arcade games, small concession area but a big wood floor. Party area is right in between the entry and the concessions making it an obstacle course to get to and from your shoes/getting skates/locker. You have to have special service to even get access to a locker not to mention it was $2 for a tiny locker. Had to have the gentlemen open and close it for me about 3x to get my money & phone out. Of course he seemed bothered by that. There is a skate guard on the floor but didn't really seem to care about the safety of others. You have a group of boys going crazy, skating fast, almost trampling over other inexperienced skaters. The music wasn't even music you could skate to, let alone even sing to. It was mostly music you never heard before. My friend and I just sat there waiting for classic songs or good songs to come on. Looks like they only serve the local regulars and care less about the other customers. I will say the lady/ladies at the front desk are pretty friendly though. This rink could definitely become something more with the right...
