My first 7TILL8 wetsuit showed up 7 weeks and 2 days after I visited the shop, in a small warehouse complex. It's easy to find. The measurement process was interesting, the facility is immaculate and well designed.
I'm in Florida, where the September weather is now a bit less than steambath and the water above 80, so no water tryout until things cool off.
The wetsuit's a 3mm short sleeve, back zip. I have good 3 and 4 mm backzip suits from Feral, a useful but slightly too big 2XLS from O'Neill, and 2mm's, short and long sleeve, that are stretchy enough to fit decently. My physical condition, 71 years old with shoulder problems (one with some loss of movement, the other being kept immobile while recuperating from rotator cuff repair). I've shrunk to 5'8" from 5'10", weight unsatisfactory (205 but good prospects for getting down to 180), neck about 17.5". I'm built like a Hobbit. It's great to have something that fits. Thanks to the back zip, I was easily able to get the suit on without harming my bad arm. It was great to have a neck that's my actual size. Waist that's also my size. Legs that fit. I expect it will loosen slightly with use. I realize that some think of wetsuits as compression garments. I'm happy to use compression socks, but for wetsuit, ease of movement is more important. I also don't like carpet-like material inside wetsuits--I concur that the stuff gets soggy and heavy.
I will probably put off a second order until I lose weight and I regain most use of the arm. Likely visits include the Outer Banks and southern California. so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHello Matt and 7TILL8 Team,
I have been using my new 7TILL8 wet-suit for about 6 weeks now and wanted to give you a user review. I ordered the 3mm Steamer, which replaced my Patagonia 4/3, that I refer to as the "straight jacket" (for which I paid $499.99, could not find a better price anywhere). In short, your wet-suit exceeded my expectations by a long shot. Flexibility in the shoulders was my number one priority - exceeded and then some. Warmth was second - exceeded (I was concerned that a 3mm might be chilly after wearing top of the line 4/3's for at least a dozen south bay winters, your suit is significantly warmer). Wind protection - exceeded (fully tested with all the cold off shores this winter). Fit - exceeded (measuring process was easy, by far the best fitting wet-suit I have ever owned). Value - exceeded (really just a few dollars more than a top of the line 4/3). Drying time - exceeded (dries indoors in 2/3 hours, both sides). Warranty - unprecedented (I have talked to several surfers who have requested repairs, they all report no problem and quick repair). Your competitors search for reasons to deny the 1 year warranty repair.
In short, I have purchased at least 1 if not 2 wet-suits per year for nearly 45 years. The 7TILL8 is hands down the best wet-suit I have ever owned, nothing has come close! I'll be back in April to get fitted for a spring and summer suits.
Thanks for an awesome...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is long overdue. I bought my first wetsuit from them a year and half ago. A 3/2 custom full wetsuit I purchased my 2nd wetsuit from them this winter - custom 3/3 hooded.
Ivāe been surfing for almost 20 years now. Tried any wetsuit that is out there by now. Hands down 7till8 wetsuit is the best I ever worn. by a long shot. I live in socal,I surf about 4 times a week. I owned the 3/2 wetsuit for a year and half now and it's almost as good as new. That is insane. Any other wetsuit would have fallen apart by now. I had a few minor seams that worned out, I shipped it to them and they fixed it free of charge! This wetsuit is so much more comfortable that any other wetsuit. I normally wear 4/3 during the winter months, this is the only winter I wore 3/2 through out the winter.I get cold easily and this suit kept me warm and toasty year around.
I used the 3/3 hooded wetsuit in central California in the middle of the winter. Felt warm enough. Their wetsuits are more expensive then the standard wetsuits that are out there, but you are getting your money worth. You're enjoying your surf more, and your wetsuit last longer which I think in the long run you are saving money and itās better for the environment.
The guys that work there are super nice as well.
Thank you 7till8.
