DO NOT TRUST THE STAFF OR ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICERS. I will only tell you to go here and adopt so you can save the animals from the staff themselves. They euthanize dogs and lie to potential rescuers. They received a pit bull hat was mauled, used for bait, and left to die under a house. She had been ripped apart with wounds that needed immediate treatment. Other than her injuries, she was a sweet little 2 year old dog who never knew love. She was sacrificed and beaten by both people and animals and dug under a house to hide. Nobody bothered to search for whoever did this. Her pic went viral in the hands of rescuers. $2500 pledged to save her and a rescue group actually showed up in person to shelter to vet her themselves and take her for her better life. Sgt. Guzman told the person she was Off site being vetted. HE LIED. They killed her. They LIED and said she had Parvo. SHE DIDNT HAVE PARVO AT ALL. She was seen being walked by the same rescuer Who came back for her. People started getting concerned as they noticed the updated posts by the shelter started becoming peculiar. It was enough for rescue group to go see what was going on for themselves. That is when Guzman spoke with hem to their face saying the dog was being cared for. This story is very, very explicit. In a nutshell, she was never even treated for any of her injuries- and they were bad. Instead they wrote her off and euthanized her so public would stop calling. They lied and said she had Parvo. Like I said, she didn't have Parvo. She was NOT sick. She was beaten, but not sick. Still, no one bothered to investigate or document her intake conditions. Nobody can locate her for a necropsy to investigate whether or not she truly had Parvo. If she did, it could be treated. However, if she was treated, hat would mean they might have to pay hospitalization fees--- and why would they do that? Why would they offer to do their job ethically? They have a special service with WASTE MANAGEMENT that specifically picks up the carcasses they DESTROY. Yah, this is what you call an animal care officer and a chief of operations who make adequate money for this. Mind you they have a rendering site that PAYS THEM FOR THEIR DEAD CARCASSES to use for God knows what. Why would they actually pay for hospitalization when they can actually get paid for the dogs body itself? Think about it. This pit bull had rescue organizations from different directions waiting on her. She was going to be safe. SGT. GUZMAN's lies are now an issue. This pit bull, named Noelle, was unethically killed. This shelter didn't allow her to be given a chance at love she never received. Her status changed constantly, making it more strict and difficult to help her. It came down to only a rescue group could save her.... And so they stepped up and physically went there before her hold was even up because they felt something was up with the way staff acted regarding her status. That's when the staff had mixed stories. One officer didn't even know what the rescuers were talking about with the info Guzman had told them about being vetted off site. The officer know nothing about her ever being treated. He said he didn't know why she wasn't. Noelle was never vetted and tended to. She was never accessed and truly had Parvo. People SAW her getting walked right after her intake. She was not sick. Parvo dogs don't want to move. They are too ill. Noelle was not in any means a healthy dog, as she had been chewed like beef jerky and her face would make anyone's heart break. Everyone wanted to help her. She was found left to die and only to be noticed by someone who led her to the monsters of Carson Animal Care in Gardena, California. My advice, go to this shelter. Find an animal and get it out of that lying, unethical hellhole. I guess when the Board of Supervisors who serve for the county are all buddied up in heir pecking orders, this is ok to let unethical laws and regulations slip and go not punished. They remind me of Monsanto. These are desensitized people who have each other's backs. It is not ok, but it...
Read moreI took my little dog to the Carson Animal Shelter. They have an animal clinic for the animal vaccinations. My dog got so scared at the clinic, but the staff was gentle to my dog. My dog did not have any problems for the vaccination. Also, they only charged $10.00 for the dog flu vaccination. This is the only place where they offer dog flu vaccination for the low price & their service is excellent. I would like to recommend this place to all pet parents. UPDATE : CARSON ANIMAL SHELTER My friend wanted to adopt a dog. Since I visited the shelter before, I wanted to help her find the right dog for her. When I arrived at the shelter, there were plenty of parking spaces. I heard that a lot of dogs were barking. They recommended that before you visit the shelter, you should view the dogs on the Carson Animal Shelter Website first. Then, visir the adoptable dogs. They said that you could see the dogs on Monday through Saturday between 11 AM- 6 PM. My friend wanted to adopt a small dog such as Chihuahua. I found a perfect dog for her. I saw a young, black small female dog was quiet. She was a small Chihuahua mix dog. After that, I wanted to see the German Shepherd dogs for other friends, too. I heard that a lot o people don't like to adopt big dogs, so usually big dogs stayed at the shelter for a long time. If you adopt the dog from the shelter, sometimes, they would waive an adoption fee. Lately, shelter was having many dogs, and they need to have loving homes. I would like to recommend that people should adopt dogs from the Carson Animal Shelter.
This is a new update for my review on 10/1/2024 Today, I came to the Carson Animal Shelter in Gardena for a copy of my dog's vaccination record. Every year, my dog gets vaccinated from this shelter, and I need a copy of the Canine Flu Influenza vaccination. Anyway, I went to the animal clinic, but nobody was answering the door. This animal clinic was located inside of the shelter. The animal clinic offered services for animal vaccinations, spray, and neutering. The price was inexpensive compared with the veterinarian office or other animal clinics. Anyway, I went inside of the main office of the shelter. I met a man who was an animal control officer. He was very friendly and attentive, and polite. I explained that I needed a copy of my dog's vaccination record. And I couldn't contact the animal clinic staff. The clinic was closed, and nobody answered the phone. After the animal control officer listened to me, he printed out the copy of the vaccination record. I was so happy that he helped me. I always come to this shelter because they have a low cost of animal vaccination fee, and the shelter staff are wonderful and very helpful. Also, shelter has cute, lovable & adoptable animals. All the animals are vaccinated, neutered & microchipped. Also, low-cost adoption fee. If you are a senior citizen or disabled person, you can get a discount on the adoption fee. There are so many wonderful animals that are waiting to adopt it. Some of the dogs have been waiting for a long time to adopt it. I would like to recommend it to everyone. Please open your heart and adopt the shelter animals! They are loving and adorable animals. All of the animals are waiting for you to...
Read moreWhere do I begin, other than to say this is a horrible horrible shelter. My heart breaks for the cats in their 'care'. I have been looking for a black Manx kitten for months after losing the love of my life one year ago. I found a posting of one available at this shelter. I immediately called (Tuesday) and was told by the admin person, reading the notes available to her, that he had ocular discharge and mange. But, I was told he'd been cleared and was ready-to-go-home. I drove from San Diego, where I live, to Carson on Wednesday the next day to see him. When I arrived a male staff member cleaning kennels directed me to the medical ward and showed me where he was located. However, a female staff member came in and told me I couldn't interact with him at all as he was not clear of medical issues. This means I couldn't see if he walked normally, disposition, nothing. She wouldn't even allow me to get close to the kennel. Speaking of kennels the medical ward was HOT, no air, dark and sad. They have zero room to move around, no toys, dirty litter boxes, little water etc. I told her I'd driven up from San Diego to see this little guy and she was extremely rude and unhelpful, basically didn't care. I drove back home ready to try again when he could be interacted with. I called yesterday afternoon, Thursday and Benny told me he'd been cleared for 15 minute interaction. I planned on driving up again today, Friday, to see him but he was off their site. When I called this morning they told me he'd been adopted. That makes me happy that he'd found a home and wasn't euthanized. However, the woman could have provided me more information when I was there, allowed me to speak with medical or told me the next day I could see him. I feel justified in making the comments and observations I have because I have volunteered at the San Diego County shelter in Carlsbad for 16 years and specifically work with the cats. Our cats live in the Taj Mahal compared to what their poor felines must endure, especially medical. And I understand there is budget to consider etc.; however, the staff could be much more compassionate and at least TRY to get an animal adopted. Also, why the felines in medical had no toys or room or air for that matter. Also, if there is an animal ,dog or cat, that has any medical issue it is being treated for our medical staff walks out into the lobby and discusses it at length with the potential adopter. I asked to speak with medical, I sent two emails...NOTHING. I'm sure the volunteers do what they can to help but sadly this shelter needs more than a few volunteers and...
