I have been two Urban Chic a total of 3 times and my first two visits have been exceptional. I was taken care of by Twee, the owner who did a phenomenal job with my gelx manicure and I was back in 2 weeks for a fill in.
This review however, is about my experience the 3rd time around. I called ahead and made an appointment for two pedicures, when we arrived we were asked what kind of pedicures we would like. I had asked for the Urban Chic Organic Lavendar pedicure and my friend asked for the Classic Chic. I was serviced my Kevin, who seemed more interested in chatting than giving me a pedicure. I had requested the Misty Morning color as that is the color on my hands, and when I looked down as he was painting, I saw that it was a flat white polish. I asked him if that is misty morning and he told me yes it is the right color, then I proceeded to inform him that I have misty morning polish on my hands and the 3 toes he had painted looked nothing alike. He apologized and found the right color eventually, at this point though I realize I never got the hot stone massage that came with my pedicure or the hydrating foot mask. He had given me the wrong pedicure and excluding some of the primary things I like to get in a pedicure : the MASSAGE! At this point , I don’t bother correcting the error but I ask him that I need my toes to be dry so how long should I sit and dry them for. To this he replied 10 minutes and escorted me to the drying station. After waiting 20 minutes and asking him if they are dry, he says yes, I can put my shoes on and pay. As you can see from the images I took when I got home, my toes were NOT DRY AT ALL. This was the WORST pedicure I have ever gotten and I had to apologize to my friend because his first experience at this salon for a pedicure was not any better. I will be back, simply because Twee does the best manicures around town. I am absolutely utterly disappointed by the service and pedicure I...
Read moreUpdate: The pictures on the last slide are what you get to look at 5 days after coming here. Honestly this is embarrassing for them how bad this nail job is. All of the tips fell off because the lady did not Cary the nail gel under the nail to support the gelx nail. All paint has peeled off. Emailed owners, no response. How this even is a good business practice astounds me I left out of town for a vacation which I told this tech, they won’t give me a refund on these nails that I have to pay someone else to fix. I would not come back here and honestly would avoid coming here if you can. Super disappointed by this experience. The whole thing took 2 1/2 hrs for a set of nails, I kept showing the lady pictures of what I wanted and she just could not get it, a short black stilleto nail. The nail tech swore up and down that these gel x nails are better but they are not. They are flimsy and already bending.
I scheduled an appointment for a manicure and pedicure and by the time my nails were done it was 7:02 and I go to sit down for a pedicure and someone had walked in before I finished and they gave the spot up. I also noticed that when I sat down, other people were being offered wine or water, I wasn’t offered until someone sat right next to me and the other tech asked. Not to mention that when we finished, the thumb nail that is now the peeled off just was wrinkly and Krinkled up, and he said that if I come back he will fix it… I told him I can’t, I go on vacation tomorrow… I got these done on Wednesday. Nails are already breaking and paint is coming off. Not what I was expecting for this place. Payed $75 for broken nails and...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for four years and I have had shitty experiences here but this took the cake. I came in excited for my holiday nails which I called ahead and made an appointment for letting her know that I wanted a bow design and French tip. I come in and the tech named Amanda started doing my nails and cut me with the file behind my ring finger nail and proceeded to try and play it off as if it wasn’t bleeding. She then put alcohol over it and over it and when I asked to get up to wash it out with all the stuff in it she said no and said after to which I got up and went and washed my hands. Then as we continued through the process she kept putting alcohol on it and when I asked her to stop because she kept putting it over the cut SHE created she said there is nothing she can do about it. Then it’s time for the design a simple single bow on my ring finger. She tried once and it looked nothing like the picture so I asked her politely if she could please try and again. I wouldn’t have asked unless I knew it was possible and since I have been doing nails since middle school even I could do a bow. She immediately sighed and said well I guess I can’t do it. She wiped it off and left the table. Told me someone else would do it and I am writing this review as it is now been 30 minutes and I am still sitting and waiting for someone to help me with the single design. I used to be a loyal customer but no more I am done...
