Decided to try this place out since we live just around the corner and it looked good and had good reviews. Met up with my brother/nephew inside and the place was very lively (including a singer/musician). Would have been fun if we weren't in the mood for talking (had to yell to hear each other), so we decided to move outside. Waitress was accommodating, so no problem there. Ordered some drinks and appetizers to share and enjoyed a nice night outside. Considering we were the only table outside, the service was pretty good overall, our server checked on us multiple times and we never felt neglected. Food was pretty good (coxinha, picanha and empanadas were pretty good but the fried pork belly was particularly chewy and over-cooked) and the drinks (margarita and caipirinha) were tasty, but a little too sweet for me.
Overall, food and drinks were decent but not great, so I would have given this place a 3.5 out of 5 if not for two major issues we had:
When our server brought the picanha platter and was setting it on our table, I reached to help her a bit since she was struggling with the weight of it. She was setting it down with one hand and had her tray in the other hand and knocked my drink over with her tray. It spilled through the table (grated table) and onto my shoes....luckily missing my lap. I scooted back quickly, chuckled a bit, and said "it's ok, at least it mostly missed me". She also chuckled a bit, said something like "well, that was unfortunate", took my now empty glass and said she would be back with a rag. When she returned, which took a bit of time, we had already cleaned it up, and then she asked if I'd "like something else". I told her the same drink would be fine, but a regular instead of a double was ok (since I had already drank half of it).
The rest of the meal went fine, but when we got the bill, we were charged for the replacement drink also. What? I mean, she spilled the drink on me. So when she returned, I asked to have that drink taken off the bill. She just stood there staring at me a bit. Then I said something like "you spilled my drink, right? Or am I misunderstanding what happened?". Again, kinda staring and not apologizing.......and eventually she says ok and returns with the bill. The drink has been removed. Great.....I mean, weird interaction, no apology, I'm kinda annoyed, but at least the I'm not paying 2x for the one drink I had. We pay and leave. I'm not happy, but ok, mistakes happen, I can overlook it. I just won't post a review, no problem.
Well, I get home and take another look at the bill, and there is an extra charge for an appetizer we never ordered or had (1 fried yucca). $13. Now i'm really annoyed. I'm not going back there to get my $13 back, that is a waste of my time. Ugh.
Another quick conversation with my dining mates (wife, brother, nephew) to confirm that with 100% certainty: a) we did not order or get or consume a fried yucca b) nothing else that we ordered was missing from our bill c) she definitely spilled my drink (it was not done by me when I was trying to help her). It was her tray, in her left hand, that hit the drink and knocked it over. Confirmed by them, 100%.
Shouldn't have mattered, she should have replaced the drink, regardless of who's fault it was. She should have also apologized, since it...

Read moreCame here last week and the food and service were great. Our server was Ana, she was incredible and super informative about everything. My buddies and I got the Boteco Platter, which was a nice array of different apps all on one plate. I suggest getting the yucca fries over the French fries. We got all 3 empanadas which were all on point in terms of authenticity of empanadas. We got the Kibe, which was good. And then we got the cheese balls, which were a little disappointing, didn’t really taste all that cheesy. For entrees I got the Boteco Picanha, which was tasty, nothing spectacular though. And I also got 2 entrees to go including the Feijoada, which was good, the meats were cooked very well. But the best dish by far was the Boteco pasta with chicken. The sauce was incredible, the pasta just melts in your mouth, the chicken was beautifully seasoned. It was incredible, highly recommend it. As for the desserts we got the flan and the cheesecake which were also very delicious, personally I think the cheesecake was better. Would definitely...
