I went to Pet Smart in Casa Grande this week because my dog’s regular groomer couldn’t fit him in and he was long overdue. I use Pet Smart occasionally in Queen Creek, so I thought Pet Smart in Casa Grande would be competent as well. They were polite over the phone and polite at intake, although it took a little long. They said they’d call me in two or three hours when they were done grooming Bear, which they did. When the groomer called, however, she said she was almost done drying Bear but he was giving her a bad time with his ears. Well, yeah, he’s a Cocker Spaniel and they have very sensitive ears. She, as a professional dog groomer, should know that. She should also stop trying to dry his ears if he's showing signs that it's hurting him. He’s a very timid, gentle dog, and no one has once complained about him before. In fact, his usual groomer says he’s the best behaved Cocker Spaniel they have.
At any rate, I picked him up, which also took a long time, got him home, looked at his face and noticed one eyebrow was completely untrimmed. Later in the evening, my daughter pointed out that they shaved his snout too closely, because she could see where he had been bleeding. Then, I noticed another untrimmed spot on his belly. It’s been two days now and his snout is scabbing and bleeding like crazy. He’s so miserable. At the very least, I will say that if you love your pets, then I would NOT recommend you take them for grooming at this Pet Smart. They are either pet sadists or very...
Read moreIf you're looking for the Super Cuts of dog grooming, then this is your place! The absolute worst cut on my dog ever! What a waste of money. I took our two dogs in to get a bath and cut on our little dog and a bath and nail trim on our large dog. When we picked them up, we were given a "report card" on how our dogs did. Stupid policy. Now it's my turn to give my report card on how the groomers did! Our dogs have been groomed before and have always done fine. Maybe this was both groomers first day? I was told my little dog doesn't like her face clipped. Really? She's 7 months old, we're working on getting her used to getting groomed. The petsmart in Eugene did a wonderful job on her and said she did great. This groomer did a horrible cut, very uneven, missed a spot on her tummy. Then the other groomer didn't trim our labs nails because he said our dogs arthritis was bothering him and he would not cooperate. Really? If you were skilled you'd figure it out.Orur dogs arthritis is not that bad. Other groomers get it done because they have experience. So I basically paid $100 for 1 bath and 1 bath and cut. Petsmart needs to hire groomers with experience, maybe offer better wage to get better groomers. I will never return to the Casa Grande location. Save your money and...
Read moreOverall the employees of this Petsmart are friendly and helpful and the store appears clean. I marked down one star because the grooming part I do not recommend. I took my two puppies in for their first grooming appointment a few months ago and will not come back for this particular service. Even though the appointment was scheduled, we waited 30-45 minutes to be seen (Mind you I have four small children in tow and two big dogs I'm trying to keep ahold of.) They tell me it will take a few hours once I dropped them off and was fine with that. I came back right after they texted me to let me know my dogs were ready and again waited 30-45 minutes just for them to bring them out so I could leave. I was so flustered I didn't even notice while I was still there that they didn't give me half the stuff I paid for with the package I ordered. I paid a good amount for special addons that I never recieved and did not have the energy nor wanted to spend more gas money driving back for. My dogs also did not smell any better despite paying for a smell good add on and baths/deshedding. I'm honestly not sure what was done other than their nails being clipped unevenly. So as a store, I recommend them for your pet needs, but for grooming, I'd recommend going...
