Sushi Gon Estilo Sinaloa - Mariscos — Restaurant in Casa Grande

Great addition to town!!!

Ok let’s make it clear, this is not your typical sushi, this is an amazing Mexican fusion!!!

I ordered over the phone and the gentleman that answered was very kind and respectful, being a new business in town I had no idea on what to order so I asked him to make me 3 rolls that would make me come back. When I arrived the rolls were ready, the price was around what I was expecting for 3 sushi rolls. To my surprise when I got home and open the 3 boxes, I found there was more than a roll to the order.

Each roll was meticulously prepped as you would expect but on top you had Chile tatemado with onions, carrots, green onions, and crab!!!! Two sauces that go with it one more like soy sauce, the other one like a mayonnaise based sauce. One of the rolls was the Sushi gon and let me tell you that the flavor was amazing.

Certainly a place I will be visiting in a weekly basis, highly recommended. I see some reviews that speak about the length of the service, keep in mind that the business just opened and they are probably experiencing a much higher demand than anticipated!!! I would tell you don’t be discouraged for those experiences, probably best to call and order until things kind...

Saw this restaurant last week after eating at Filibertos next door and my son asked if we could have his birthday dinner here. We went tonight and our waitress couldn’t answer any of our questions as she “didn’t know the menu”. She had to go and ask the kitchen which was fine, but then we waited for over an hour (an hour and 15 minutes to be exact) before asking “how much longer”? Our waitress went to pop through the window to ask the kitchen... no one was there... so she opened the door, again no one. Then someone pops in and says 15-20 minutes. Nothing we ordered had to be cooked. This made no sense so we said we can just pay for our drinks and leave. The waitress tried to say “oh well, they already started your order”. There was 3-4 other people at tables around us that all came after, none with food the whole time. We had to tell them I’m sorry but we’re starving and it’s my sons birthday. So, she was irritated, but we finally were able to pay for our drinks and leave. No offer to compensate or even acknowledge the excessive waiting. Super disappointed. Would give 0...

I can’t for the life of me figure out why this place has such good reviews. We walked in and immediately got a bad vibe. We almost left before even ordering but decided to give it a chance because of the reviews. It’s just a dirty hole in the wall. Usually the hole in the wall places are the best. Not this one. Honestly the worst sushi I’ve ever had. Nothing tasted fresh, everything was bland, every roll has cream cheese in it even though the menu doesn’t say that (including a rainbow roll), and it took 30 minutes to get our food even though we were the only table there. The music on the tv was so loud it was difficult to have a normal conversation. The best thing we got was the fish taco and the fish itself tasted dirty. The server was very friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy her job, she was the only redeeming quality.
