We went to the Unbridled Rodeo today and it’s an event for people with disabilities. Pretty sure the people working the parking lots were with the Douglas County Fairgrounds…
The 2 ladies were extremely rude and hostile. One with Purple-ish hair and another blonde haired lady… I felt like the signs were pretty poor for this event.
First we ran in to the purple haired lady and asked her where to park. She informed us we had to go all the way back to the lower lot but she was very rude about it. We then proceeded to try and turn around and it just happened to be the entrance to the back… she then proceeded to scream at us “THATS ADA ONLY!!” Yeah ok… where exactly do you want us to turn?
So we then asked the blonde haired lady if we could go drop off our kiddo (special needs) and the baby at the entrance… she got very rude and snippy with us. Extremely aggressive tone. So after I dropped off the wife and kids I came back out and she was arguing with somebody else.
So then I proceed back to the lower lot, the purple haired lady didn’t have the full sign out or anything… meanwhile cars are leaving this lot. She puts the sign out “Actually… this lot is full now, go park up the hill, it’s the same distance any ways”. But this was in a extremely rude and condescending tone.
Knowing what this event was for, these workers should have been trained to deal with this kind of stuff. The disrespectful tone from these 2 women was actually...
Read moreI have attended a Father-Daughter dance here for about 10 years. It's name has recently changed the "Winter Ball". That's the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars. I don't know if this change was brought on by the venue or those that organized the dance (if they're separate). It's sad that the name has to change to appease a small percent. Those dances were a special time to bond fathers to daughters... And in a time where most fathers often get very little time in these impressionable years. I don't get why things like boy scouts and dad daughter dances are targeted. We're all free and able to start our own clubs/dances/etc. So if you don't like one, make your own, don't force others to change everything for you. And isn't that what the whole purpose of these movements was? I think the fight was about the Freedom to do things differently than others, to be yourself, without fear and without being forced to change who you are... But now we are being forced to change and conform...? It's something to...
Read morePartook in a 4H event on grounds. Facility was clean as well as restrooms. Nice to see the restrooms open and stocked so many times for other shows they were locked and nearest port o potty was past the collage office at the ball fields which if didn't know they were there you drove off property either way put a bind in showing animals or miss meetings so thank you very much for addressing this major matter. I would also venture to put more strategic handicap parking. It's there just most of the time the doors or gates to enter change do to event but spots don't so have a good travel from them to event. Possibly even have temporary handicap parking signs on poles to move around. None by smaller arena, stable area or by main and side doors to big arena. More than happy to volunteer to assist with discussing...
