I just went to Nixon and Company today for the first time and had a hair appointment with Lauren. It was technically a color correction from all the bad work I’ve had done on my hair in the past from other salons. It looked pretty bad when I walked in and I’m very picky about my hair. However, I immediately was hopefully when I walked in to Nixon and Co.’s incredibly clean and relaxing environment. The boutique and salon have an impeccable ambiance, and service wise, I have never had a better hair appointment and have never left a salon as happy and satisfied with the outcome as I did today. My hair looks insanely beautiful. I was shocked that Lauren was even able to achieve the gorgeously blended result that she did. She was fantastic as well as professional and calculated with her color application. To give a better point of reference, I will share that when I walked into the salon my hair was orange/gold on the ends and had a harsh line where a bad reddish brown shadow root had been applied by another salon. When I walked out, my roots where blended and matched precisely to my own natural color, a rich brown, and was blended down into a cool beige bronde (brown/blonde) that has so much dimension it looks like a true balayage. I couldn’t be happier and am so thrilled to have found a salon close to home with a fantastic stylist. I won’t be going anywhere else in the future. I highly suggest you to check out Nixon and Company if you haven’t been happy with your hair in the past and are looking for a new salon. And I also highly suggest Lauren as a stylist (I haven’t tried any other stylists and won’t now that I found one that I’m very happy with, but I’m sure they are all great). So the colorist, Aly, was awesome. She was so sweet and did such a wonderful job. Before I brought my daughter, we called to make sure all employees would be following the state mandate and wearing masks. Aly wore a mask which was selfless and very much appreciated. My daughter get very comfortable. Then other stylists came out to see clients and they were NOT wearing masks. Unbelievable. I couldn’t grab my 15 year old and leave because she already had color on her hair. Thank goodness she was wearing a mask as was I. Other clients weren’t wearing masks either. I felt so unsafe. The fact that they lied is appalling. We specifically called and asked if they wore masks. The lady at the front desk never ever wore a mask. Never. I saw her with my own eyes. The stylist with short blond hair never wore a mask. The very tall stylist never wore a mask. The stylist with long light green hair didn’t wear a mask with one client and then wore one with another client. I understand that some people are opposed to mask wearing. However, I think it’s up to a place of business to be honest when asked if everyone will be wearing masks. Then it’s up to the client to decide whether or not they want to proceed with the appointment. Like I said, Aly was absolutely amazing and respectful, but others in that place were not. Not very...
