I've had to reconsider my take on this specific club. I recently brought my son along with me and he enjoyed the place, so much in fact he wants to make it his new work-out home. After spending that time there with him and watching how enthused he was I began to look at some things through his eye's and "Wow!" Great place to get your fitness in, as he put it. Thank you PF, although, lunk/s shouldn't be associated with those of us that come there as a means to better ourselves.
(Weight lifters are tagged with this)
Should there be a rule or word for that or those types who come there work one set then onto social media for about ten-fifteen minutes then 🔁. Not all of us who lift 🏋️ wants to wait a half hour or more to reach our fitness goals.
(this is why we're called lunks)
Beginners or not, we all want to work when we get there, just ask some of those bigger guys who lift along side us not so big guys. We all strive for the same thing, put in our work time and get out, sweat, push ourselves to a better level of fitness, for instance, ask those who step, run or walk they're always sweating working hard, Why do you do it? All gym members should feel as I or them do. Time to work otherwise what's the point in joining a gym if you didn't come here to sweat and change your body type, either it's to muscle up, shed unwanted weight gains, reshape your body or run until you're completely exhausted.
(cardio is hard work)
Point is this, we're all beginners in one way or another, there are no body builders at this fitness center, just some guys who really really like to lift weights. We aren't lunks!!! It's just my way, feeling good through a rigorous intense workout, no intimidation, no judgement. I don't... Yes, I know, I went off book with this post but I had another thought and decided to add it. PF is my place and I really enjoy going in as hard as my body (soon to be fifty two year old body) will let me... So excuse me when I'm there, no showing off just want a better looking body that pleases me!!! Also, hopefully some...
Read moreThis location has been going downhill for weeks. The people working the night shift have seemed more interested in watching videos on their phone than do their jobs. The paper towel dispensers are frequently empty, as are the sanitizer spray bottles. We're still in the middle of a pandemic, plus it's cold and flu season, and no one can bother refilling the sanitation equipment? So much for "keep it squeaky". Now, I never know when this location is going to be open. I haven't been able to work out here since last Wednesday. Last Thursday night they were closed due to "the weather" -- 2 inches of snow...in Pittsburgh, Pa apparently means the night staff can't make it in. Then last night, there's a sign on the door dated the 7th that their hours changed to closing at 11pm rather than being 24-hours. Yesterday was the 10th! Someone else pulled in right behind me and was also wondering what gives. How could no one send out an email to give members a heads-up?! They send me emails telling me to refer a friend all the time, but they can't email to let me know I need to rearrange my schedule if I want to work out? I've never been treated so unprofessionally by a gym before. I'm looking into other area gyms that are interested in being serious about treating customers right. I'm going to cancel my Black Card membership, because the PF in Bridgeville suddenly cut their hours, too, despite it saying as of last night that they're 24-hours. There's no point in having a Black Card if I can't predict when or if I'll be able to work out at a Planet Fitness anymore. I imagine a lot of people are going to be looking at other non-Planet Fitness...
Read morePlease know that if you want to cancel your membership with this gym you must do so in person. You cannot call- you cannot email- it must be in person. When you do make the special trip in to cancel, make sure to request a paper copy of the cancellation paper you sign. They will tell you that they will email it to you and there is no need for a paper copy -however- if there are any issues with your account (like it not being cancelled despite you going in person and cancelling it and they still pull the money from your account) they will ask you if you have any proof of cancellation printed out... which again you'll have to go in person to deal with. Best to just start with a printed copy for when the inevitable issues occur. On your bank statement keep tabs on any draws that occur from "Planet Fit Club Fees" (at least through my bank it lists it as such) to make sure that they do not continue to draw from your account after cancellation. Print that out too. Good Luck trying to get a refund. Don't bother complaining to the main Planet Fitness HQ- since these different locations are just franchises and you will be told to talk to the management at the offending location. Go to another gym- there are many in the area with similar priced memberships- maybe even just go to a different branch of Planet Fitness instead of this location. Save yourself a...
