Update 4/2022 * It took us quite a long time to return, but I'm pleased to report we had a delicious dinner on our first dine-in visit, and no customer service issues this time either. I'm chalking our weird initial experience up to it being a new place at the time and the owners still working everything out. It seems they've done that, and we will be back.
Update 2/18/21 * The restaurant owners reached out to me, apologizing for being overcharged. I was offered a replacement meal, saying they were sorry for the problems I experienced and wanted to make things right. So I’ve raised my two star review to a three star review for now, since they are making an effort. I may update this review again if I have another meal there.

I’d been looking forward to trying this new local restaurant for a couple of weeks. It’s very close to home and the menu looked quite interesting, so I was hoping it could become a new favorite.
I ordered a yellow curry with shrimp, and my husband ordered the cinnamon pork stew, both for takeout. Our order was ready promptly and we took it home. But when we got home and I started to serve my curry, I realized there were no shrimp; instead, the curry contained what turned out to be pork. Not a big deal, people make mistakes, but it wasn’t what I ordered and paid for (shrimp, like at many restaurants, are an upcharge), so I called the restaurant. They asked whether I could come down and pick up what I assumed would be the correct dish, which wasn’t a problem, so I headed back out. When I arrived, what I was actually given was a small plastic container with some plain shrimp in it which, I suppose, I was expected to add to the pork curry that I didn’t order. I guess it’s a good thing in this instance that I’m not Jewish, Muslim or pescatarian?!
I mostly just ate around the pork; the flavor of the curry was good and I liked the hard boiled egg in it, which I haven’t often seen with other curries I’ve had. However, while the menu on their website states that the curry comes with the choice of rice, noodles or naan bread, I was charged an extra $2.50 for a small container of rice.
My husband said his cinnamon pork stew was quite tasty, but the texture was exceedingly thin and broth-like — I’d say it was far closer to a soup than a stew.
It wasn’t all bad, and it’s possible we’ll try this place again in a couple months and see whether things have improved. But there are so many other local places that I haven’t had the same issues with that I wouldn’t count on it. I was hoping for a much...
Read moreOur experience was delivery, that might matter. Food always test best fresh.
First time trying Time Out Time Eat and I'd have to say it was... okay. Certainly wasn't bad or anything. Would probably get it again.
It was just a little... hard to figure out.
I had the Chicken Sandwich with the Time Out Time Eat sauce. The sandwich itself seemed like a homemade chicken filet. If it isn't, then whoever they get it from does a great job. Wasn't greasy, didn't taste fake. Just tasted like fried chicken breast. And that's great! Nice big soft bun too.
The special sauce... I didn't dislike it. I'm 90% sure it's bbq sauce (possibly Bulls-Eye or KC Masterpiece) and peanut butter. Totally different. Again not bad, but I don't know if I'd get it again. I might. It's unique. I'll give them that.
We also had the Banana Roll for desert. That was actually dynamite. Picture an egg roll but stuffed with bananas and sticky rice with a side of sweet and creamy sauce. It was like a walking bananas foster. Just a really nice sweet treat to wrap it up.
I think that's part of my confusion. I can't tell you what kind of cuisine it is. Clearly there's some Indian or Nepalese based on the curries, dumplings, naan and samosas. There's also some really American South items with pulled pork and po' boys. Then there's tacos and burritos. And fried rice?
For the last time, it's not bad. I did actually like the food. It was just unusual and I could absolutely see it if it wasn't everyone's cup of tea.
I'd say check it out. If it seems a little too eclectic for your tastes, it probably is. If you're just looking for a crazy mish mash of all types of cuisine, I don't know of a better place to go.
Next time I'll get a southern fried pork bell po' boy or the braised beef naan sandwich. Maybe the further off the deep end we go the nicer...
Read moreI came here the first time looking for tacos since i didn't realize Cocina Mendoza had closed and that's what my wife wanted. Fortunately they had tacos on the menu. And curries. And southern fried chicken. The menu is eclectic and seems to have modifications from time to time but everything we've tried has been great. Maybe the dishes are just the ones that Chef Oat is best at making rather than focusing on or limiting herself to one particular cuisine. My wife's only complaint is the portions are too large, but the prices are still very reasonable and I see they recently added lunch portions so we'll have to give those a try next time. I've had a couple nice chats with Chef Oat's husband, John, who seems to run the dining room most of the time. The one time I ordered delivery he was very proactive when the Door Dash driver didn't pick up the food on time and called me to let me know what was going on and see if there was anything he could do. I don't recall any other time any restaurant responded proactively like that and it wasn't even his issue since he can't make a Door Dash driver appear. It's also a family restaurant and their children are frequently about in the evenings and helping out as well. I wish their family the best success in their venture and will be back to do my...
