I really liked this place then they got a different cashier. The lady that is cashier when they open now has been targeting me and my family. Although she usually will approach alone, today she brought her gentle man friend to try to harass me and my 12 yr old while we were shopping. Everytime i go in she has a reason at check out to be very confrontational. I have to bring in all forms of cash and card because it is obvious she doesnt want to help us. I feel worried that i may need to report this to BBB as well report her male friend. I pray these individuals aren't racially motivated. I like going at opening for the good finds. Why would she try to prevent selling their merchandise? I have asked her if she was interested in purchasing any of the items i had and i would be glad to put it bk but she snaps at us during all purchases as well as making me reach around their counter for bags that are obviously not placed for customer use, probably against store policy too. Her rudeness towards me and now her loud remarks towards us made me feel uneasy. My son was right there. He overheard her and her gentleman friend and observed them. He shook his head. He said shes mean when he pays. He asked if shes prejudice. Im not sure if my son will go bk. I have been going there for years, none of the other workers have ever treated us badly. Its sad that she would do this when my child was with me and bring a man to intimidate us. I have no problem with confrontation but she crossed the line when doing this when my minor child was with me. Its a...
Read moreI normally enjoy stopping by Talking Talons on my way through Cedar Crest, but all of that came to a screeching halt the last time I was in this store.
First off, I understand how frustrating it can be when people come in prior to closing. I have worked in retail before, I get it. What I don’t understand is how this quaint shop can still remain in business after treating their customers so poorly.
Yes, I did show up, unknowingly right before closing. Yet there were other customers still inside. I had a few minutes to look around the store, but got greeted with a huge sigh and a reminder that the store would be closing. Seeing as I had a few minutes, I thanked the employee for the information and continued my way inside for a quick peak.
You know, it’s really hard to look around and enjoy anything while being reminded every minute for the remaining time I had by one of the “sales associates“. If I could, I would have bought your silence.
This “sales associate” also took it upon herself to tell me, and my daughter- “We are closed. You need to get your stuff, pay for it, and leave.” Suddenly I lost all interest in purchasing anything from this establishment.
Please note- there is a kind way to speak to people, who happen to be willing to purchase your overpriced, donated goods. Sighing heavely, rolling your eyes and being coarse and impolite is definitely...
Read more1/14/24 I stopped in after many months of not going in just to be disappointed again. I thought well let me try maybe something changed… lol as I was looking around and had a couple of things in my hand I overheard the employees in the back gossiping about someone that had taken something. The guy says ya I saw the fat lady’s van and I got the plate info, I instantly saw red and just turned around dropped my items and left. Besides pricing items way above value or pricing and letting friends buy the item’s or employees getting mad at other employees for letting something get out into the floor before he could say he wanted it , because yes I’ve witnessed this also, they also have to talk loud enough for customers to hear them. I just felt this was so rude. This place is priced like it’s an upscale resell store I’m surprised it makes any profit for the program they supposedly support. We live in the east mountain area and love to support local shops but this one is definitely off the list. I’m supposing it caters to friends and employees...
