Staff are all very friendly and helpful if there in person. Staff is hurried on the phone. My issue was the obstacles they put in place that made it harder for me to stay on my medication, which treats multiple dx’es including agoraphobia & severe social anxiety that impacts my ability to initiate phone calls.
They wanted clarification on my prescription for multiple months in a row, but rather than contacting my doctor, they just…wouldn’t fill my meds until I called. This is irritating because I have pretty bad phone anxiety and also I’M NOT THE PRESCRIBER. So I went without my meds for two months before I could call, and they asked me about one of my two prescriptions I was supposed to call about. Keep in mind the online portal does not say WHY you have to call. The person on the phone was in a hurry, spoke to me in pharmacy jargon I didn’t understand, and then hung up before I knew what was going on or could ask for clarification. Now my prescription is a quarter of the strength it’s supposed to be and they canceled the other without asking me or my doctor.
These are things that could be worked out if they would just call my provider. I felt like they were making value judgments on my prescription and adjusting it without talking to my doctor on purpose. I’ve since decided to just stop taking my medication because I can’t find a pharmacy that will just dispense the gd prescription without making me jump through additional hoops...
Read moreI've been a customer at this Walgreens for many years and have been extremely satisfied with the quality service I've received. However, in the past month all of that changed when they started to outsource prescription services. I used to be able to get meds refilled in 48 hours. Now, it can take over a week to refill my meds. I often get the excuse that there's an insurance issue or the medication is out of stock (this happens for meds that I've taken for years). Often, I get notifications that the pharmacy is temporarily closed at times other than during the lunch hour. My usual pharmacist is no longer there. I'm not sure what is going on, but customer service has really deteriorated in the past month or so. EDIT: After posting the above review, I am editing my review. Today I discovered that one of my prescriptions which was processed off site was INCORRECT! It was a blood pressure medicine that had been dispensed at a higher dosage than what was prescribed by my physician. It could have resulted in a life threatening reaction! Think of the potential liability! Good thing I caught the error. The seriousness of this error has prompted me to find somewhere else to fill my...
Read moreMy last two experiences at Walgreens have been less than adequate. Wal-Mart no longer carries the medicine that I have to have so I had transfer my prescription to Walgreen. I went to the drive through to pick up my prescription and wound up sitting for 20 minutes while they waited on everyone else in the store. Finally I parked my car and went in and had to wait longer. The girl told me that Walgreens corporate won't hire enough help to assist with their work load. Great huh? The second time I went in to buy cold medicine for my husband. There was a coupon on the Walgreens app for $2 off Mucinex. I tried to pull it up but it said it wasn't available try later. I mentioned it at checkout but the cashier said she couldn't help or honor it because it had to be clipped to my card or a paper copy. I had to get it any way but the cashier was worthless and not sympathetic at all. I have one more month of my prescription and than I will find another pharmacy to get my...
