Fareway Meat and Grocery — Local services in Cedar Falls

I avoid going to this Fareway Store because I don’t feel welcome. I’m a woman that owns a business near by and sometimes I need a quick trip to the store and this one is the nearest one.

Every time I go inside I feel ignored ( not Greeted like everyone else, no thank you, no welcome or “do you need any help”). This must be an exclusive light color skin store.

when I’m not being ignored I’m being followed around! Employees watching me to see if I’m stealing or something. And no it’s not all in my head it’s literally every time. I employees stare hard like I’m some kind of weird animal....

Meh. The butcher's is the only section worth visiting. The vegetables selection is underwhelming and everything is wrapped in plastic. Fruits already have their own skins; they don't need to be wrapped in plastic, which is bad for the environment. Employees were rude and unhelpful. Today they told my husband not to bring our own reusable shopping bags without explaining why. If you don't want to touch my bags then just let me know and I'd be happy to bag my own stuff. The delivery of the message is important.

By far the best place around for steak and chicken. Produce section is priced competitively as well, granted the selection isn't huge. Generally I have no problems finding good produce if they have it.

Good deals on deodorant/soap/toiletries/paper goods as well.

Frozen section is a little smaller, but deals here are often found. They price product to move, so a lot of times you can try new things at a good discount (Outshine Mango Bars for half the price at Walmart for instance).

Customer service is always stellar too, of course. They even take your cart out for you and help load it...
