Wild Hare American Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Cedar Falls

I came to Wild Hare with my fiancé and future brother-in-law a little before 5pm on 6/21. (Long story short food is moderate if you are looking for a food review and expect to wait long.) We ordered drinks and cheese curds, which came out fine. My fiancé’s custom pizza and my brother-in-law’s mac & cheese burger arrived a little more than 30 minutes later from when we ordered but, my mango chipotle cheddar bacon burger never showed up. Waitress said she would go check on it 10 minutes later the server told me it went to the wrong part of the restaurant due to a tech issue. She said she meant to send the order to the back but it went to the front/bar which I am still confused on as the kitchen and bar are in the front. She said they were on it right away and will be out in first thing but that turned into 15 minutes. She repeatedly said it would be “one more minute and they are finishing the final touches on my food”—which turned into another 15 minutes then 30 minutes. After waiting nearly an hour total since the people I were with had ate, I canceled my burger and ended up eating leftover cold pizza that my fiancé ordered. They took my burger off the bill, but didn’t offer a discount or make any effort to fix the poor experience when I asked. The waitress simple said no and apologized but walked away with no explanation. The food we did get was just okay—not worth the wait or price. Overall, the service was frustrating and disappointing. Terrible service!! The sandwich I ordered was not what was on my plate. The waitress never came back to check on us. I couldn't even eat the sandwich it was so bad. After the rest of the table ate the waitress came over and I explained it wasn't right and to just charge me for the fries I ate; we didn't have time to wait for a new sandwich at that point. The "manager" came over saying it was my fault for never telling the waitress the multiple times she checked on us. I informed her the waitress did not, pointing to our empty drinks. She snottily asked "well what do you want; a refill?" I told her I didn't want to pay for the sandwich I didn't order and couldn't eat. She stomped off, and we didn't get the check from the waitress for another 5+ minutes.

That manager handled it horribly. I was nice and offered to pay for the fries initially. It was a simple kitchen mistake that could have been easily resolved. They claimed to be busy. Maybe they were. The 10 empty tables we could see said otherwise, but busy does not excuse bad...

I came in to the restaurant to eat with my friends and cousins. The food we ordered was very good! Had no problems with it at all. We asked the waitress for our boxes and checks as we were running late for a hockey game. When my cousin received her check back she had noticed the waitress never took her money for her food. My cousin waved down the waitress and explained she didn’t think she charged her for her food. The waitress thanked my cousin for saying something and took her money back. My cousin asked for cash back so she could leave a tip. When we got out to the car my cousin counted her money and not only did the waitress take the money for the food my cousin bought, she also took $40 that wasn’t hers. When my cousin went into the restaurant to explain what happened the waitress was willing to give the $40 back right away. But the manager said my cousin couldn’t be trusted and they’d need to review the cameras and get back to her by Friday….its been over a week and nobody has reached out. Definitely will NEVER...
