Sidecar Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Cedar Falls

Usually Sidecar is one of the best coffee shops located in Cedar Falls in my opinion but this time it was absolutely terrible!!!! I usually LOVE their matcha lattes but today's matcha was awful. Their matcha is usually a pretty light shade of green but today it has the tiniest bit of matcha powder, to the point that it only tasted like straight up milk. My friend ordered a vanilla chai latte, and was given a vanilla latte, which is an honest mistake and they offered to change it but we decided it was best to just leave and try somewhere else. My friend does not like espresso. but I tried their latte and again, it was straight milk with a little bit of extremely bitter espresso added in. I don't know if they were training someone but the wait was longer than usual and the drinks were not good at all. The atmosphere was fine, its a super cute and nice little coffee shop, and I try to support local coffee shops over going to a chain like Starbucks or Scooters, but today we ended up throwing our drinks away and driving 20 minutes to a Starbucks...

I’ve been going to sidecar for 7+ years every week since I started college. I order an iced americano with extra cream. This particular barista on Easter Sunday at the first street location was very off putting. I can tell by the color if my drink is going to be off (first world problems) and it was just on appearance. I kindly asked him if he could add more cream and he said that’s all he could do unless I wanted to pay extra. I said it’s never been an issue before, and that I’d paid extra if needed. He said “I’ll add more just this one time” … I thought to myself what’s the big deal here? Inside the shop, cream is set out for those to use for drip coffee and americanos, with no extra charge. If you want to charge more due to inflation, add that to the board please. To say the least after being a consistent customer for years, this place is too inconsistent for me and their product is too inconsistent I’ve decided I might as well make my coffee at home and I’m done supporting a place that treats their...

Came in for the very first time ever with my husband on June 11th. We walked up to the counter to look at your menu. The girl behind the counter said "hi". I told her we needed a second because we had never been there before. She told us that the store was actually closing in 5 minutes. I had not realized that it was close to closing.
