Calloway's Nursery — Local services in Cedar Park

My sister and I visited this location in the late afternoon on 4/27, the day before their grand opening. The date is significant, because it was our father’s birthday, who passed away in 2018. He loved gardening and going to nurseries, so we took the trip out there so that we could feel a little closer to him.

As we were discussing how much our dad would have loved this store, a woman came up to us and said “I don’t mean to run you off, but we close at 6. Our grand opening is tomorrow, so you can come back then.” We dutifully left as quickly as we could, but it’s really bothered us ever since. Needless to say, we didn’t return the next day - as a matter of fact, we got a plant from another nursery on the way home to honor our dad (which was a quarter of the price). You only have one chance to make a first impression, and Calloway’s blew it with their poor customer service.

While traveling in Mesquite, Texas, I wandered into a Calloway’s and was immediately drawn in by all the beautiful plants. I spotted three wax myrtle shrubs that I fell in love with, but getting them back to Austin wasn’t going to be easy. When I got home, I stopped by the Calloway’s in Cedar Park and asked if they could have the wax myrtles shipped from Mesquite. The staff was so kind and happy to help—they put in the request right away. There was a small hiccup along the way, but they made sure everything was taken care of, and the wax myrtles arrived just as promised. When I came in to pick them up, Maria and Mike greeted me with big smiles and went out of their way to help me load them up. On top of that, they gave me a quick and super helpful tutorial on how to prune the shrubs so I can train them to grow into tree form. It was such a pleasant experience, and I’m so thankful for their help and kindness. I look forward to many more visits to this...

I've watched as this place was built over the past year and couldn't wait to check it out. I was not disappointed as Calloway's is the real deal with a great selection of all top quality items. If you are looking for dying discount plants then don't look here - these are top of the line and have a higher price point. The store branded container mix I bought was the best I've ever purchased and the plants I've gotten are all very healthy and strong. You'll also find things here you won't find many places - and the selection of herbs was really outstanding. Everyone that works here seems to enjoy being there and are always willing to help.
