Honestly, I (a mom of two beautiful tiny gremlins) only ever shopped at Target for non-grocery items until a few months ago. I had other go-to's I felt were nicer to my bank account lol I think maybe back in college, I saw a few items I thought were overpriced, so I assumed it all was. My little sister, also a mom of two and major penny pincher (I say that with the utmost admiration) informed me she ONLY shops at Target. I was baffled. We then went shopping together so I could get a closer look at some of the exact items I would otherwise purchase elsewhere. It was amazing!!! I can definitely say the only times in the last few months I've shopped elsewhere was when I was crunched for time and couldn't drive the distance. A few reasons I'm obsessed:
1- Target has the BEST sliced corned beef in their deli! Tonight was my first time trying it, and it's honestly what inspired me to write this review. I've never reviewed a grocery store until now lol
2- Target has Starbucks! and 3- sushi! I started a tradition with my daughter when she was experiencing jealousy after her little brother arrived. I want her to feel special, valued, and loved. When we go to the store, we pick out a tray of sushi and pay for it at Starbucks. Then we order a refreshing iced tea to share :) and we enjoy our treat while we shop. She absolutely loves it! As do I!
4-Target carries a LOT of products other places don't. Before kids, or even with just one, I didn't mind so much going to multiple places to find everything I needed, but now it's twice the hassle. It's nice to be able to get it all in one trip!
5-Target accepts WIC! This was a major deciding factor for shopping around, because the stores that accept it don't always have what we need for our allergies and food sensitivities.
7-Shoppers receive discounts for bringing bags from home! And lastly,
8-Target Circle! If I have to buy groceries any way, why not earn points while I'm at it? Points are converted into cash benefits. For example, my last trip to the store was about $5 off. It's not a lot, sure, but it's more than what other stores are doing. I love and...
Read moreUpdated post Curbside: Best curbside experience in town. The store is still set up incredibly poorly, but with the times as they are now, we can have them bring it out to the car.
Updated post remodel. The aisles are only wide enough for 1 cart and one very skinny person. Makes this place a nightmare during busy time. Was looking to buy a kitchen aide mixer but the display is out of reach. I am not 10 feet tall so i could not get a look at the items. Looked online instead. Picked one out and submitted it to pick up in store. Got notified wasnât available. Same thing with the Roomba we tried to order, showed and was available but wouldnât let us do a pick up. Since we were trying to use a 20% coupon to buy both it seemed kind of shady.
Again, the selection is less then what it was pre remodeling and it not a very good layout. The previous layout was so much better/easier.
Terrible during the remodel say away.
They are doing a remodel of the store and it is a mess, most of the aisles are 1/2 size, and not safe to walk through. The merchandise is hard to find. A lot of the products are not moving because they are not as busy, so make sure you check dates if you go (almost bought some out dated food). Most of what made this a super target is gone, the food section is smaller, the new layout is not very good. Somehow they have made the place seem bigger while having less stuff to offer.
Do not take you small kids here, to many places for them to get into that are merely blocked off by a cone. Construction workers are walking through the stores and not paying attention to...
Read moreSo disappointed in the Bakery todayđ I went in and picked out an all white 2 layer cake to have decorated for a friendâs birthday. There were two women working, one middle aged a d the other a little older. The older one was kind and started to say they could do that, when the other one interrupted her and said they couldnât. I couldnât believe my ears, so I asked to clarify âso you are unable to decorate this all white cake for my friends birthday?â I even held it up so she could see it. She not only said no, but was very rude through entire process of us trying to pick out a cake. My 12 year old daughter was shocked with the womanâs behavior. Now normally this is something I would have ordered in advance, but my daughter was ill all week and it slipped my mind. The baker didnât say it was because they didnât have time, she said it was simply because it was a cake they order in, rather than bake themselves? She even snapped âwhat do you expect?!â Very confusing as it was all packaged the same and in the same section as every other cake. Baffled, my daughter and I decided to go to Hy-Vee where we were then greeted with a warm smile by their baker. She went above and beyond and offered to make a cake custom to our choosing by 3pm same day! This was way more than we expected and could not believe how kind they were at Hy-Vee! Anyways I love target, but will think twice before I ever consider their bakery again. Just to be clear, not just due to lack of accommodation but more so....the very condescending attitude we received...
