Karen's Kloset — Local services in Champaign

First, the manager is incredibly unprofessional. She and another associate could not bother to stop their conversation about someones kid being taken by CPS while I was filling out my consignment paperwork (I couldn't believe my ears). Nonetheless, I stayed and stood in the store for 15 minutes putting my clothes on hangers. (i was not told this was a requirement prior to my appointment.). I brought 30 to 40 items from brands like Express, Levi's, Buckle, and some were from less popular European brands ( I recently lost over 50 pounds and am looking to over haul my wardrobe). I looked around the store to get an idea of what items they sell and I saw some low end items and an item with a hole so i thought i would have no issues selling at least some my items. Wrong... They took none of my items and the manger claimed they were too old. When I told her that some of my items were no more than 1 year old with the tags still on them she said they may have been overlooked because they have so many clothes to get to despite the fact that I waited 2 weeks to have my clothes looked at!Unless your items take less than 5 minutes to look through and you dont mind wasting your time being subjected to inconsistent buying practices don't bother. I absolutely love resale shopping! My goal is always the same, to find great items at a fair price. This was my first visit to Karen's and my overall thoughts when I walked in were that the store was well organized, there was a large selection of items and that the prices were a bit high. I guess if you find an item you can not find somewhere else or you just have to have them it would be worth it. My daughter did find a pair of shoes that she liked so we ended up buying just those. They were actually 25% off so they ended up being around $10 which was a great deal. I would definitely go back and look for more items we got to the store thirty minutes before closing so we didn't get to thoroughly look at the whole store. I'd give 10 stars if I could. This place is phenomenal. They have a great selection of inventory and they get the best items!! The pricing can not be beat. Very fair for such quality designer items and they run sales all the time. It's my most favorite store. What really stands it apart is the customer service. I've been shopping here for at least 3 years now and every interaction has been stellar. The ladies are so kind and friendly. So willing to help. They are family friendly and have always made me feel more than welcome. I no longer live in Champaign but I get Facebook updates and it's seriously so easy to either shop on-line or call in and they couldn't be nicer, more helpful and they ship to me.
