I called to order breakfast for carryout because I was on my way out of town and the last time I ordered eggs, this restaurant did not let down. I was on hold for 5 minutes because the woman answering the phone told me she could not take my order but her coworker could. I would have used the web site to order but it is not very easy to use. After being on hold, I decided to call back. Immediately the woman working was able to take my order down: scrambled eggs cooked soft with cheddar cheese, along with a cup of orange juice. I was told to pick up the order in 10-15 minutes. After getting to the restaurant, I realized they had removed their carryout parking spaces. This was very disappointing and inconvenient. I couldn't park close to the restaurant and had to get my baby out in the cold and walk over. I got inside to see that my order had not been sent to the kitchen yet. Nobody apologized for my waiting. I stood in the restaurant for about 20 minutes. I paid for the food before it was brought out. It is a little expensive there, but it's always amazing. I finally was given the food. I drove out of town before I could stop to eat. When I opened the food and took a bite, it was surprisingly terrible. The eggs were not cooked "soft" as I had asked (and they gladly will cook as such if you ask, I have ordered this many times and it was always perfect), and even worse they were burnt. I've never had burnt anything from this restaurant and am very disappointed.

Pictured in my review are the 49er pancakes, dutch baby with strawberry and bananas, and the strawbana waffle. The Dutch baby was the most expensive item at about $20 and there is also a longer wait time for this item. It tasted crispy on the edges and very egg like in the center. It had the consistency of french toast and it was served with lemons and syrup. The strawbana waffle tasted like any other hotel waffle. It was the cheapest item but it still tasted good. Lastly, the 49er pancakes were new to me and definitely a treat! They were as thin as crepes but tasted like pancakes. I’m not a fan of crepes but these 49er pancakes were delicious. They were easily my favorite of the three dishes. Keep in mind that these pancakes are huge but thin. The service was good the waitress didn’t check up on us that often because everyone at my table got water. We had about 8 people in our party and we only had a 5 minute wait time on a Friday morning. The place can be a little tricky to find with gps so you might have to drive around the plaza a bit. Parking is so so depending on the time of day that you go. It can be difficult to find a spot up close. The pricing was a bit on the pricer side but some of the food was worth it. Overall, I suggest you check this place out if you’re ever in the area and looking for breakfast food!

It tastes SSSOOO MUCH better than it Deliciously Looks!!! I've never had a mediocre meal from there!! Their 🍓sss are HUGE, SWEET, & JUICY all four seasons!!! And as big as it looks, it's very light & hits the spot!! The staff is very kind & helpful. It's my GoTo place when I want to Celebrate or just Treat Myself.(I've been there 4X in 1½mos., THAT SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING LOL)...... UPDATE.....11/04 I'm sssssooo😭distraught. I ordered the SAME thing, like I always do & the waffle was hard, crispy, dark brown & barely any strawberries. I politely informed my waiter, he cheerfully apologized & went to get me a new one. And to my utter😥dismay, yet another HARD, DARK IN COLOR waffle. I declined that one too. The atmosphere wasn't busy & yet no one asked me about my meal(LIKE EVERY OTHER TIME😔). So, it cost me $13.00 to eat TWO SAUSAGE LINKS & TWO EGGS w/cheese & mushrooms...SERIOUSLY😐 I'll give it a random try ONE MORE TIME, after that, SADLY I think that hard, dark brown waffle with barely any strawberries or whip cream(BOTH)will be the norm.

The server was very prompt and kind yet the management of this place is atrocious. I had gotten off of a 9 hour shift and took a friend to go eat breakfast before going to bed. I have severe epilepsy and sometimes the music to regulate my anxiety when in very loud crowded places; I had respectful non cursing music at a low rate and was told to either turn off the music or leave the restaurant because the people behind us had complained even after explaining that it was for my epilepsy and that I could have a seizure without my music, to manage severe anxiety which can cause and trigger a episode. I have been coming to this restaurant for a long time in the span of the three years that I have lived in the area and after today's experience I will never return again. It's bad enough going through a pandemic and barely being able to go out as it is without being hassled and harassed by management; a restaurant is somewhere that you should expect to be loud especially been going out to eat in a public place and when the phone was not even on half volume there should have been no reason for issue the other couple that complained could have been moved if it bothered them that much especially because I was a paying customer as well I will never return ever. And I am for Anyone who reads this to go support a different local business because this one does not deserve business and treats its consumers by a pay...

My family recently visited the Champaign-Urbana area of Illinois for the weekend and visited the Original Pancake House on a Saturday morning. My family – my husband and myself, my teenage daughter, my toddler son, and my mom – walked in, saw the crowd of people waiting to be seated and almost walked out. Thankfully I was able to convince my husband to wait in the car with my toddler while my daughter and I got our name on the list and waited inside for a table. Unfortunately, the Original Pancake House does not take reservations, so everyone is forced to wait around inside for an empty table to open up. Our wait time was a little over 35 minutes.

The Good: The food at the Original Pancake House was great! There were a lot of different pancake options on the menu. My mom ordered the seasonal pumpkin pancakes and they were delicious! The rest of us ordered eggs and waffles and everything was tasty.

The Bad: Obviously the wait time was no fun – especially when visiting with a hungry toddler! The Original Pancake House tries to accommodate everyone by adding bench seating in the waiting area, but it still wasn’t enough for everyone to have a seat.

Overall: We enjoyed our meal at the Original Pancake House, however, next time we’ll try to visit at an off-peak time. This place is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the...
