Went in to get repair on wedding ring. The ladies in the store were nice I got a quote. Then a man came out and started looking in a book to see what they would charge me. Stated there were several prongs to replace and many other repairs. It was damages as I got my hand caught in a fence. By the time he was done my repairs were over 1100 dollars. I have been to Mosleys before under different ownership and had several prongs replaced. As I get it checked every year. What he told me did not seem right or fair. I took my ring back when he asked me if the ring was gold or platinum as I just thought he should know. I went to a jeweler in Newberry that several locals had recommended on face book through Newberry Now. My repairs ended up costing me 35 dollars. Thier are two rings that are soldered together and there was a pretty large gap between the two. Their were no prongs damaged. I was quoted 85 dollars but when I went to pick up they said it was not as bad as it looked. This was my Grams wedding ring and now has been mine for 19 years. I will never step in that store again. Before the prior owner retired they were amazing. They completely tried to take advantage of me. They got a 1 star because you can't...
Read moreIt's the Friday before Christmas and I walk into Moseley's Diamond Showcase because I read online they can service Luminox watches. It's the height of the Christmas shopping season and I am in the store front of a high end jeweler because I have a dead battery. They are packed with customers looking through their great selection of jewelry. I was expecting to be brushed aside, asked to come back, or given a list of other places to take my problem. That's not what happened. John Moseley greeted us warmly and took care of us from the second we walked into the door. We were treated with the highest level of customer service and respect. They got me back up and running very quickly and after a quick discussion about how they stand behind their work, I was on my way. Shop where you want to shop, but when the man with his family name on the sign treats the dead watch battery with the same respect as the diamond ring, I think it says something special about the character of the man, the family, and the...
Read moreThe inventory is good, and the location is great. But as a somewhat new resident of Chapin, SC, I quickly learned that this is the city to be in when moving to the Midlands! The schools are some of the best in the state, and there are many high end neighborhoods. The lake brings a lot of wealth to the area! This location needs some major upgrades to improve curb appeal. The "Moseleys" sign has been sitting in the grass propped up against the fence for over a year now. The sign by the street is made of some sort of plastic tarp wrap material. The store appears to be an old house which is cute and quaint, but not when the wood decking is all warped and rotting. Appearance is everything when trying to sell fine jewelry, and sadly, this store falls short.
I know the location is new, but they have had over a year now to at least start some renovations/improvements. And the sign sitting in the grass has no excuse. If it cant be put up yet, get it out of view from the main road. Makes the whole place...
