I recently visited The Daily Grind Cafe in Chapin, SC, hoping to find a new regular spot as our previous coffee shop moved. Unfortunately, my experience left me wanting more.
The staff was friendly, which was a nice first impression. However, there were a few things that didn't quite meet expectations. When I ordered a latte, I was informed they were out of almond milk. I was also left to find the menu on my own, as I wasn’t offered one, and assumed the only food options were the muffins and scones in the display case. After learning they were out of pourable eggs, I opted for a breakfast sandwich, which was decent but nothing to rave about. The latte itself was underwhelming, with very little flavor.
The biggest disappointment, though, was the temperature inside. With the cold weather we're having, I was hoping for a cozy environment to work in while sipping my latte, but the inside temperature was consistently around 65°F. The concrete floor made it uncomfortable to sit for long periods of time, as my feet started aching, tingling, and burning. I ended up having to layer up and even went to my car to grab another jacket to keep warm.
I was really hoping to make this place a new favorite, but sadly, it didn't meet the mark. I’ll have to keep looking for a more comfortable spot that offers a better...
Read moreA charming little spot that might be small in size but is undoubtedly huge in character and flavor. Our group of 11, plus 2 adorable twin babies, were greeted with a warm and welcoming ambiance that set the tone for a delightful experience. The star of the show was undoubtedly the omelet, which almost all of us ordered. Each omelet was cooked to perfection, fluffy and bursting with fresh, savory ingredients. It's clear they knows how to make a memorable breakfast! The beverages were equally impressive. The coffee selections received rave reviews from our group, striking the perfect balance of robust and smooth flavors. But the surprise standout was the Chai Masala – a fragrant and perfectly spiced delight that warmed us from the inside out. Despite the cafe's modest size, the space felt both intimate and accommodating, a rare find in today's bustling café scene. The staff was attentive and efficient, handling our large group with ease and grace.
Really great things indeed come in small packages. We left with full bellies, warm hearts, and the unanimous decision that we will be returning in the future. If you're looking for a cozy spot with top-notch food and a welcoming atmosphere, look no further than this...
Read moreExcellent, adorable cafe with good coffee, great atmosphere, friendly employees, good customer service, good food. Vegan options readily available - humus wrap simple but really good! Super thrilled, most restraunts in Chapin don't have any vegan options. Great vibe in their too. Fancy espresso machine. Fruit when I went was strawberries and blueberries which was nice, usually fruit sides at restraunts are cheaper fruit than berries. All food was very fresh and we did not have to wait long after ordering to receive it.
Only think is seating is a bit limited inside, but as long as it's nice outside or you go when they are not busy you're good! Maybe if they got some of those outdoor heaters or plastic walls it would help the outdoor seating in the winter? Idk those can look kinda eh and are not entirely useful and wouldn't want to kill the beautiful vibe.
A bit pricy for food at coffee shop (over $50 for 3 adults) but worth it plus I'm willing to pay a little more to a small business than to big...
