Aada Braids (African Hair Braiding) — Local services in Charlotte

I stopped by the shop and talked with the owner (Aada) about a crochet style --- She had an example of the hair I was interested in on hand and I asked her how much would it be to install that type of hair ---- I was quoted $80. I agreed to follow up upon checking my calendar we subsequently talked and she confirmed my appointment verbally over the phone and via text.

On the day of my appointment I arrive on time and she is not present. I was told by another braider that the owner had decided not to come in and that I would need to come on a different day to get my hair done. I had not received any communication from the owner since confirming my appointment earlier in the week. The lady then rudely told me that she had told me the wrong pricing for the style and that it would be $120.

Needless to say the owner arrived more than an hour later and did a piss poor job on my hair. It was not evenly distributed. When I told her she ignored me. In addition, she then said that the price for the style was $100. At the end of the day I gave her $120 but I will never return to her business for service. She was unprofessional and the style was trash. I should have known the hairstyle was going to be horrendous when she started from the top the ratio of hair from top to bottom is 5 to 1 my head and hairstyle looks like a mushroom. There is a significant gap in the middle of my head with absolutely no hair. This was a horrible experience and Aada had not desire to make it right she only had excuses. At the end of the day if it's a style that you (Aada) do not want to do or are bot skilled at just say that dont fake it and con people out of their hard...

Not the most pleasant experience. I had to wait an hour after my appointment time because there was only one braider present. Another braider was called into help but it took her an hour to arrive. The first woman I encountered took my money and left the other girl to do my hair, only 15 minutes after we finally started. My hair is short due to a pixie cut and I asked if the style was even possible with my short hair and they ensured me there would be no problem. Took 8 hours to braid my hair into a bob length due to the braider having trouble with the short parts of my natural hair. Even now, as I’m writing this, I’ve waited 20 more minutes for the water to boil. I’m trying to be reasonable but leaving my appointment in pitch black at midnight is not okay. I called four times, and there was lack of communication with this lady. I waited outside for 20 minutes for her to come and greet me at the door! Kept calling, would not answer the dam phone. Finally, she comes down to greet me. I definitely WILL NOT BE returning here for LACK of communication. UPDATE: I did check my CALL log, and you never answered my calls. My braids, I got home and realized , my braids were all different sizes! IDC if you were doing business for 200 years, my braids are all different sizes.
