Chef Kenny's Kitchen — Local services in Charlotte

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our meal with Chef Kenny’s Kitchen, when they were at the Lost Worlds Brewery on Wednesday, 7/26/2023.

The menu jumped out to my wife and I, as we indulged in the Buffalo Chicken Deviled Eggs & the Shrimp & Grits. I also wanted to give their chicken bites a try, since that is my go-to type of bar food on a night out.

The food was amazing. Fresh, flavorful, and absolutely incredible. The portions were exceptionally generous, as I would easily have paid more for the food we had.

Perhaps more importantly - the staff and team is incredible. The internet was a bit laggy as they were setting up, and we jumped in line as soon as they opened. Because of the inconsistent connection, they had to pivot their traditional payment method, which removed the opportunity to provide additional gratuity. When I returned for my food, I asked if there was any other way to tip them for their work. Their response was “our tip is the ability to serve you, thank you so much for your business and support.”

I LITERALLY HAD THE BEST SHRIMP AND GRITS EVER. They were otherworldly!! No joke. First of all, when Kenny and DJ handed me the dish, I immediately noticed the drizzled cheese and sprinkled chives and other colors on top. Then, when I tasted it, I really just couldn't believe what I was eating. It was thick, but not too thick, the perfect mixture of texture, spices, and flavors, and completely satisfying. Honestly, I really have never tasted shrimp and grits like this before. You have got to try it!!!!! Chef Kenny’s just happened to be the food truck at Open Tap the night I was there, and I think some culinary god was looking out for me. I ordered the Brussel Spouts, the Shrimp and Grits, and the Biscoff Bread Pudding. The order was ready quickly (they text when it’s ready!), and everything was FANTASTIC. The shrimp and grits were absolutely the best I have ever had. So much flavor!! The Brussels sprouts were perfectly roasted and the corn sauce was amazing. And Biscoff bread pudding!!?! Yes please.
