Eastway Shopping Center — Local services in Charlotte

I didn't stop at this mall. I was in Charlotte looking for my old school. Eastway jr high which to my surprise had been torn down. I can't believe how Charlotte has grown since my folks move from there to where they moved here to Benson, N.C. in 1978. Could hardly find my old school, and old house I lived in for 20yrs. Don't think I'll be going back to that area any time soon. Rockhill, S.C. had really surprised me it had doubled in size. Store on every corner it seemed. I found it troubling trying to find my way around that city too. I spent a couple hours trying to find my way to my best friends house. Only to visit a couple hours. And head to Charlotte.No plans of returning there either any time in the future. I know we have to grow with the time. But why do we have to take away the feeling of home town to take those memories to places just to build out and make money. It hurts my heart to see these places. I'm so glad that where I live now the Benson, and Dunn, N.C. area still gives you the shine town feeling. You can still find a store, or your family places without getting lost. So I saw to where I live thank you for that home t oi wn feeling. That feeling will leave you at peace to live out my days. I'm 67, my husband of 33yrs. will rest in peace here when our time comes. A lot of places have come and gone from this shopping center, and there are still some empty store fronts...BUT, there are also some amazing local stores there.

Corporate America is taking over Plaza Midwood, and many of the stores and restaurants that made Plaza a great place to shop and dine have moved away because the rent is now sky-high. Several of them have relocated to Eastway Square. You can find anything you need, from unique videos (I know, but seriously, you don't know what you're missing!) from Visart to delicious vegan food to so many other things! It's anchored on one end by the Chef Store, which is a great place to shop for bulk items. I believe there's also a Family Dollar, but I think most other spots are local or small chain. If you need a warm pretzel or gas, there's a QT, and I think the fast-food option is McDonald's. If that's not your jam and you don't want to try delicious vegan drinks and eats from Eastside Local, pop across the street to Church's...

Even though I had an issue with Food Lion with an employee getting off work, pretended to be a manager when I asked her to get me a manager, who went behind the counter and did something and then left. As I was leaving, a cashier turns around and yells at me for being loud and she was louder than me while helping a customer. I called corp and they dealt with it, and I called the manager and he didn't know what has gone on Now I wasn't loud when the cashier turned on me, and I told the manager and he knew EXACTLY who they were, so I gave food lion the benefit. Bcuz the issue of ppl getting fired on purpose is a growing trend to collect unemployment. Work awhile then get fired to collect unemployment. But awesome shops;) for ppl on limited income.
