House of Pizza — Restaurant in Charlotte

I use to eat here and recommend people but Never again!! The owner is an absolute liar. The cooks never get the order right. The only decent person there is the receptionist. The cooks did our order wrong and burnt it. We saw it once we got home and we called. The owner said sorry free sandwich whenever you come back and took our info. Due to the pandemic we didn’t have a chance to just go pickup the sandwich for awhile. We finally get a chance to go back and the owner says no to what she promised us. Saying we took to long and she doesn’t remember us. Wait what??? You took our info. Couldn’t even get a refund. she says she would never give away a sandwich because her boys never mess up. Im like your boys? So the owner hides in the back hoping we would leave but after almost an hour she decides to face us. The owner upset that we didn’t want to donate our money walks off. THE RECEPTIONIST APOLOGIZES ACKNOWLEDGES THIS LADY IS RUDE AND CRAZY AND GIVES US THE SANDWICH SHE KNEW WE WERE PROMISED AND DESERT FOR HAVING TO DEAL WITH THE OWNER. For a number of years i lived virtually down the street from House of Pizza and would frequently eat there a couple of times a week. It might not have been exactly like Cheers, where everybody knew your name, but they never forgot a face and more often than not they would remember your order. The two sisters were phenomenal with the clientele. One managed the restaurant and the other ran the kitchen, both were done with old world charm and care. The food and service were always exceptional. What originally began as a temporary closure for some upgrades eventually turned into a full on remodel. Ten months was a great deal longer than had originally been scheduled for remodeling the restaurant. As a more recent follow-up, i ate there about 2 weeks ago. The service was abysmal and our waiter appeared high as a kite and messed up our single order 2 different times. The large pizza is now about the size of your average medium. I just ate there, used to be a good place. Im a frequent customer, but seems there are new staff. I asked for a large order of tzatziki sauce and I was given a tiny plastic container the size you get at fast foods that you fill with ketchup. Nobody will pay about 4 dollars for that. I asked her about the size and said I ordered a large and that the large is much bigger and comes in plate not plastic. She said that large side is only served with the chips not the entree. A co worker had to come and tell her thats not the case, she just continued discussing with me instead of checking with her co workers. Then she listened and asked if I still wanted that container, which is smaller then there small or large tzatziki side. After my dine in meal she had charged me twice for tzatziki sauce. I should have not been charged for that. Thats twice they are trying to overcharge me. I gave a penny as a tip and the supervisor at the front said thank you and did not seem to care.
