Waited for someone to help me in tool rentals for 30minutes, I got the attention of employees walking around and all they did was call in the overhead speaker for assistance in tool rentals. It took so long that they were starting to tell me “I don’t think there’s anyone over there” or “I saw him leave I don’t know who’s supposed to be there” which is frustrating because I can’t do anything with that information, it doesn’t solve my problem of needing a tool rental. Eventually this young girl came and made sure we all knew (there were a lot of people waiting by then) that this was not her department. I told her what I needed and she immediately said “oh no” as if she knew they didn’t have it, but how would she know that if this is not her department. Also I had been there waiting long enough to know it was in fact there on the shelf behind her. She starts collecting my information, I go to pay and credit card does not go through so I try again, still nothing I have another credit card but before I can try she said “oh we don’t take credit card for rentals it has to be debit” i tell her I never carry a debit card and confirm with her it’s only debit, she said yes so i leave. I checkout my other items at the register with my original credit card and it works fine. I go home frustrated because I just wasted 45 minutes of my life. Something made me check the website because I didn’t believe her and the website clearly states you must have a credit card for rental no debit accepted. She really just didn’t care to help me. I get that places are understaffed, but also I’m coming in Home Depot with a problem that they could help me solve and I get turned away because someone doesn’t want to do their job. The competition “L” Would never have done this so I recommend going there...
Read moreI decided to go to this Home depot location today after having issues with another location. I was attempting to buy an item that was marked down from $99.99 to $79.99 on the store display. The other store was not able to help me with paying the amount that was listed in the store and said there was nothing that could be done. Having always had a good experience at the Wendover location I decided to try my luck there instead. However, I was not expecting to recieve the best customer service experience to date (from any store). I went up to the register and explained the situation from the other store to head cashier, ALLEASSE. After greeting me with a Hello, a friendly smile (assuming as much from her tone because she was wearing a mask) she told me that she would make sure that this was figured out before I left the store. The computer system here was having the same issues ringing up the correct price and making any changes as it was at the other location. Instead of giving me a "sorry we cant help you" response she went through everything she could before calling over the asst store manager (Chris) to have a look. She kept me feeling confident the whole time that it was going to work out. Chris came over and worked his magic and I left the store paying the listed discounted price. He could have just told me "sorry it wont work" like the other store did but was also determined and figured it all out very quickly. I cannot say enough good things about my experience. I could have just left the store mad about false pricing the way I did the other store. However, The confidence, friendliness, and positive energy that Alleasse demonstrated made this experience the BEST. Companies need more employees like Alleasse !!! Thank you for a great...

If I were to request a change for this particular location, it would be that they do not show their regular customers any appreciation for their business. Sure there is the credit card things if you use credit cards or if you are a contractor the pro desk seems to be all over that.
For me and many other regular customers that don't use credit cards. We really do not get shown any appreciation for supporting this store for the past 17 years that it has been open. I drive 20 minutes one way to make sure I take my business to this particular location always have, Some projects could mean 3 visits in one day.
I get no recognition of appreciation for the constant amounts of money I spend there, I mean when the housing bubble burst, there are no contracts for the contractors to be spending money in these stores, who keeps them afloat during the lean times, that would be average joe customer. There are hundreds of people just like me that really spend a significant amount of money on home projects and repairs, and we never get any recognition or appreciation for this loyalty.
Why not have a scan card on your key ring that you scan each time you make a purchase, this would show beyond the shadow of a doubt just how much people like myself spend to support your store. Maybe get freebies in the mail or a coupon or a free mum in the fall as a thank you for being a loyal customer. I mean there is many other places one can go, but we choose to support your location. A little appreciation here I don't think is too much...
