Finally got to a place I’ve been meaning to try for a while, Pure Pizza. They started out in 7th street market, moved to a place on Central and now found their forever home on The Plaza (Juli, the owner, said they bought the place, so they don’t have to rent anymore). Pizza was great, top 5 in the Charlotte area for me!!! Kaiden and I split the Sloppy Don, which is extra sauce, extra cheese, extra pepperoni and extra black olives (I got my half minus black olives of course, since I’m a fan of the classic pizza- cheese and pepperoni only). Jen and Jeff got the wild mushroom pizza and really enjoyed theirs as well! Unfortunately there was an issue with their system and our appetizers came out about a minute after our pizzas, so didn’t get to properly enjoy those, but they were very good once we got to them. Jen loved the Brussel sprouts, don’t see those at a lot of pizza places. We had 5 in our party and the only options for sitting inside are 3 small two person tables, one counter/bar with 4 seats and another counter/bar with 4 seats. There are six picnic tables on the side, but there were quite a few bugs when we tried to sit there. Best seat is the large table on the porch by the entrance. Juli said they are working to get a way to enclose where the picnic tables are, so that will be awesome if they can get that worked out! Drinks are by the can and there is a 3% surcharge for paying with a credit card. All in all, great little place with a really nice owner, nice variety on the menu and great pizza! Easy parking as well! We will definitely be back!

Hole in a wall type place! Located off Central Ave. Friend and I decided to come for lunch. Arrived around 130ish, and the parking lot was EMPTY! you walk in, place your order at the counter, and then find a table, and they bring the food out for you. I ordered the chorizo personal pizza with Brussel sprouts. It was DELICIOUS! Pizza was made fresh, and the combination of chorizo with the radishes and lime they gave you gave it the extra kick! I definitely enjoyed that pizza and could've eaten the whole thing if I didn't stop myself. Brussel sprouts were flavorful. Grilled with all the spices, which made them flavorful and not just plain. The sanitation score was a bit low, 96.5, and the bathrooms had no soap in them and a broken toilet. Makes you wonder if the employees actually wash their hands if and when they use the bathroom. Superised at how it was empty when we came during lunch hour, which always makes me wonder what is wrong. Either way, my pizza was delicious, and I wouldn't mind coming back to try other items, but given the low sanitation score, I wouldn't come out of my way either. A big plus, though, they do have their own attached parking lot with PLENTY of parking spaces, which is always a plus, especially off Central Ave. Also, im not sure why this is coming up off The Plaza Rd. But this is located off Central Ave in front of Modish Nail Spa

UPDATE: Pure has turned an unfortunate corner and we no longer support this business, sadly. Their issues began during the pandemic when they did not adapt well to takeout and it was extremely difficult to even place an order, and customer service was nonexistent. We forgave them this because everyone was trying to adjust to the "new normal," but then the owner became unhinged on their social media with aggressive anti-mask rhetoric, and this is no longer a space where I feel comfortable. OLD REVIEW: My partner and I eat at Pure regularly and without fail, each time we spend the rest of the day raving about how d*mn good this place is! It’s my favorite oven-baked pizza in the city, by far. The ingredients are always fresh and flavorful and even the crust is delicious—and that’s coming from someone who never eats the “pizza bones.” The crust is so good that they give you infused honeys to dip crust in, which is basically free dessert; I highly suggest the bourbon + chipotle honeys double-dipped. Besides the food, the staff here is always so sweet and friendly, this is truly a neighborhood gem.

As a business we've had past experiences at where we enjoyed the food immensely, this was disappointing. Not sure if the pandemic just got the best of the restaurant but it seemed like ingredient quality or skill to execute just went down a lot.

Wife, I and our child popped in for a dinner at this brick- and-mortar location. Ordered the mushroom app, ceasear with chicken, hot Italian, and Buffalo chicken whatcha-ma-call-it app. Weirdly, the most flavorful thing was the mushrooms - essentially nothing else we ordered really did. The caesar salad, which I've held as one of the tops I've had in the past, seemed to have shaker cheese, watery dressing, and bland chicken (it reminded me of pre-prepared and sliced cooked deli chicken you buy at the grocer). There was no real Buffalo taste to the Buffalo chicken app - the dipping sauce stole that show. The Hot Italian was just... there. For $60+ and the disappointment we experienced in what just seemed to be a food-quality/ingredient drop, we just don't see much reason to go back.

Aside from that - oddities in the dining experience (which as a order-at-the-counter-then-sit experience, is meh but just mentioning), meal came out likely as each dish became ready, so I had my salad well before any of the hot dishes. Silverware was delivered with the dish, opposed to placing silver equal to number of folks at the table at front of dining experience (or at first item delivery). Took some food home since we didn't finish it all - got pizza to-go boxes to package mushrooms and salad in, which was weird.

I'll possibly swing by at some point to give it another whirl to see if this was just an off day (and amend my review) but this experience definitely puts that on the...

My wife has wanted to go to this restaurant for months now, every time we drive by she mentions it. We finally get some free time and stopped by last night. Our order total came to $40 and for some reason the cashier mistakenly added a $10 salad to our order when we clearly asked for their $5-$6 side salad...the add on wasn’t a huge deal but the amount of time it took him to refund the Unwanted salad was slightly disrespectful. He began taking other customers orders as if my refund wasn’t a priority. That was the first sign that the customer service or quality wouldn’t be satisfactory. We sat on their patio, the pizza came out...cold. The “She-Rex” is what we ordered with vegan cheese which was an additional $4. It probably would have tasted better if it was hot, warm or Luke warm atleast. we asked for additional pepper flakes and salad dressing on multiple occasions, the waiter/hostess forgot that we asked on both occasions until I finally stop eating my meal, and went back into the restaurant to ask again. He responded with a “oh sorry” as if I didn’t ask him 2 times within the last 10 mins. Not sure if they where short staff, if he was new, or if that’s just how they do things a Pure Pizza. But with that experience it put a slight damper on our night. And the wife definitely had a lot negative things to say after wanting to try this place for months. Just something to consider for a potential...
