I don't want to toot my own horn, but I am somewhat of a take-out Chinese connoisseur. Evaluating a Chinese take-out spot is similar to when a college football scout is trying to piece together next year's roster. You are looking for certain intangibles that scream you've stumbled upon a star. Pulling into the China Bowl parking lot for the first time is no different than watching Cam Newton take his first snaps for Auburn or Kelly Clarkson walking into that American Idol audition room; it's a moment engrained in history where you are sure that something special is taking place. You may be wondering now, what on earth are the intangibles that this lunatic is raving about?Well, for starters, it's as barebones as it gets. I'm pretty sure they converted a fast cash building into a kitchen that pumps out 200 crab rangoons a minute. There is absolutely not a place for you to sit. You go in, interact with a nice girl working the front desk, take your food and a pamphlet made on Microsoft Word 2002, and you get the heck on your way. On top of the purely business aesthetic, the food is fantastic. By far the best General Tso's Chicken I've found this side of the Mason-Dixon. The Lo Mein noodles wrap you up into a blanket and tell you everything will be alright as you battle an excruciating hangover. Lastly, it is as cost-effective as it gets. You could feed a family of four for $30, or in my case, you can feed a gluttonous, hungover 30 year old twice in a day. I always tell my wife, we need to stop going to Food Lion; let's just grocery shop at China Bowl. It might be the only strategy to survive the rampant inflation we are facing. Take it from a pro; you won't regret going...
Read moreI ordered door dash from here I was craving some sesame chicken and this place had good reviews on door dash. I saw they had quite a few reviews on Yelp about having really good hot wings I thought Iâd give those a try too.
When the food arrived it was hot and still crispy. Everything I requested was in the bag.
The wings are called buffalo it not any real spice to it kind of sweet with a small amount of spice. They are crispy and a good size for the price.
The sesame chicken came in a tray that looked small but it was plenty on the tray once I started eating it was more than I could consume in one sitting. I added vegetable fried rice instead of the plain fried rice and it was worth the up charge to me. The vegetables were perfectly cooked.
The meal also comes with a egg roll I was able to request a vegetable egg roll. It heated up nicely the next day.
Craving Chinese takeout here would be a good...
Read moreHi, there is currently a girl in there with a purple shirt doing the register. She is very sick coughing all over her hands I literally just witnessed a customer returning their food and as theyâre showing her whatâs wrong with the food she is coughing on the food as she has the box open and shes close fisting her coughs like itâs blocking them, then proceeds to not wash her hands and continues to serve guest their food That is very unsanitary. She sounds terribly sick. And that is a extreme health code violation please fix this issue and have her sent home. Thank you. Iâve called multiple times Please have her put a mask on and wash her hands consistently through her shift. Itâs sad I have to write this review, but I was genuinely appalled by how much she was coughing and how her voice...
