The Better Bakery — Restaurant in Chattanooga

We were visiting Chattanooga and I always do a google search for gluten free options when traveling. This place came up and had great reviews. But either everyone is lying or my daughter and I got a terribly bad batch. My daughter was so excited for a cupcake she could eat and she won’t even eat it. It does not taste sweet at all, the icing is oily and the cake is grainy and dense. It was by far the worst gluten free experience. And they are super overpriced. And yes I have been gluten free for years. I have found much better options that taste better, moist and reasonably priced. $27 for 2 cupcakes is ridiculous! If it was simply an accidental bad batch you would think the company would have sent an apology email back to me when I emailed to let them know we were not pleased with what we got. I found The Better Bakery on Google maps when trying to get a custom cake made, and was immediately drawn to the fact that they use higher quality, healthier ingredients. I contacted them with a custom cake order idea, and they communicated well and reached out to me to finalize the details. The cake came out amazing, both in aesthetics and taste. You pay higher prices here than what you'd pay for some random grocery store cake, but that stuff is mass produced and filled to the brim with addictive unhealthy ingredients anyway, so to me it's totally worth it to pay a little extra for higher quality food. My friend and I went on a Friday and the cupcake bar was so fun, we got to pick out our own cupcake flavors and toppings and they were delicious! Super moist, I loved the texture and I'm not a gluten or dairy sensitive person. The raspberry tart was amazing as well. Nice crisp crust with good flavor. Nothing was overwhelmingly sweet like a lot of bakeries in the area. Just the right amount of sweetness! The owner has nailed her recipes and I'm so impressed with her business!
