Update: 30 Mar 2020 Twice now I have be traded rudely by the cashier there and let me tell you the other day was completely unacceptable. I have never felt so humiliated in my life and I could not get out of that store fast enough. When I got up to the register the cashier mumbled something and kinda gave me a very rude look and umph then she grabbed a roll of paper towels and pulled off a few hastily and the picked up my stuff with the paper towel even though she was wearing gloves. At this point everyone is staring at me. She did not do this with the person before me. I really felt like I was being totally discriminated against one because I am white I say that because it is not the first time I have been treated like this by the cashier and she was all smiles with the black customer before me two because when I go out to get groceries these days I wear a mask to try and save my life because if I get this virus I will leave my 11 yr old child all alone in this world. I am one of those people with high risk factors. But irregardless weather I have the virus or not that is no way to treat a person...if you're that worried about it you shouldn't be working in a very high risk job. But should I have had it she should be grateful that I was wearing a mask to try and protect her and the rest of the public!!! That was probably my last trip there because I have enough in my life and I don't need the stress of being ridiculed by the workers.
This is a great place to save money and still get name brand food. Although I do have to say some things are as much if not more than Wal-Mart. And you also have to watch the exp date when you buy things here because sometimes they are really close if not already past the date. But when the dates are close it's a HUGE discount!! The item in the pic are like 5-6 bucks but I got...
Read moreThis store should not even get one star. I went to the united grocery outlet on Highway 58 in Chattanooga Tennessee and as I was leaving the store the manager who I did not know was a manager at the time asked me to not come back to the store. So I proceeded to ask her why could I not come back to the store and she told me that an employee who went by the name of Tammy, said she saw me stealing out of the frozen section. Now keep in mind my purse is about the size of two wallets put together it is a kavu bag. A frozen baby chicken could not even fit through the top of the purse. Second off I shop out of the fresh section and get vegetables and fruit and meat. So when I asked to speak to Tammy to let her know that she had the wrong person she refused to let me see Tammy and said that she had already left for the day but when I walked in the store she was there and I was only there for 5 to 10 minutes. If anybody has a corporate office number please let me know because I need to report this situation because I just moved to Tennessee and I am not going to be accused of something...
Read moreThis place is a godsend. It is a discount store, full of the groceries from other stores that are overstocked or nearing expiration. You will see palettes of canned goods and packaged snacks, dozens and dozens of the same kind of luncheon meat, juice, cereal, and the like. They do carry name brands, as well as the store brands from places like Bi-Lo or other food stores. The prices cannot be beat. They are always well-stocked in meats, though the cuts tend towards the cheap side, and they will have certain items one week and different items the next. But it is THE cheapest place to buy groceries in Chattanooga, save perhaps for Aldi, who has them beat on produce prices most of the time. There are exceptions; I paid $1.09 for a pack of five zucchini squash at UGO just today. It's a little cluttered and dark, and a little out of the way, but it's worth the trip to feed a house full of people...
