This place has seemed to have lost my application for a new social security card which was needed after my name change. I have proof showing that it was delivered to them (date and time) but they are showing nothing in their system. I also received my personal documents mailed back, just as they said would be the next step in the process but somehow, they are showing no evidence of ever receiving my application which was sent in the same envelope with my personal documents in the first place. The fact that they were not allowing people to hand deliver such important documents was a joke which is what I wanted to do. This is now my identity that has somehow been lost on their behalf. The person i spoke to on the phone was of course, working remotely and continued to talk over me while also trying to blame others including the USPS saying âIâve had packages delivered to my neighbors but if they are not honest, they will not send them to the right addressâ. Or implying that it could say it was delivered when it really wasnât. Except their process is to return personal documents once received which is exactly what took place! The best he could do was give me an appt to handle this in person except this doesnât resolve the issue of my lost application with my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER ON IT! Iâm livid and itâs a complete disgrace that they were requiring such important documents to be mailed in the first place due to covid. Businesses are taking full advantage of preventing people to come in person while using covid as a crutch. If people can go to the grocery store, they can drop off important documents, that if lost, can lose...
Read moreIf I could give a zero I would⌠went to see if my daughter (an infant) had a social security number because over the phone they were not allowed to inform me of that. On the phone when I scheduled the appointment the man told me to bring my daughterâs birth certificate. So I did along with all the other paperwork from delivery discharge just as backup paperwork if needed. Waited for my appointment got called up to a desk that was not private at all. The man at the desk asked for my babies ID and when I presented him her birth certificate he then gave me a paper that said a birth certificate does NOT count as ID. Never in my life have I heard this to be true. Also the social security employees over the phone told me to bring it and that anyone under 5 needs to use their birth certificate. So I made a second appointment with pen signed medical records as a form of identification. Guess what they needed this time ⌠a birth certificate! Unfortunately the hospital did not submit the information for the social security card so they had to generate a whole new one for my baby. I asked the girl at s.s if she could provide me with the number ( so I could give it to my health insurance company) she said she wasnât able to because it goes to the main office and will sent through mail and that I could call and ask for it over the phone. WRONG! You cannot get a social security number over the phone ⌠so much wasted time and energy with this office you guys need to get your facts straight with the social security phone people. So incredibly frustrating...
Read moreThis is the second time I've come here, prepared with all of my documents, that I've been turned away because I still don't have the right documents. I waited for nearly 2 hours both times because there is only one person behind the desk. Hire more people or at least provide the correct information on the website of which documents we need. The same male worker told me to go to my child's doctor for vaccination records only to tell me today that it doesn't count. It needs to be from the department of health. Had I known that I would have spent my two hours today at the department of health getting what I really need. Hire more staff and quit wasting time. No help and no compassion at all. No help for the elderly in front of me either. I don't think they helped a single person while I was there. Everyone was turned away. What do you do all day...
