Been going here with a friend for 3 weeks now and I came from little to no yoga/air yoga experience. The foundation classes are similar across instructors and are basically a little workout session with more emphasis on arms and core + stretching and balance. The instructors give options for each movements so you get to decide how easy/hard you want to go. The pace varies a little bit from the instructors but overall they're all friendly and encouraging people that'll help you if you want/need. Classroom is usually 100% girls but occasionally we get a guy here and there and it's always amazing to see more guys try/join this sport that definitely gives a "girl vibe" but is equally if not more challenging than a lot of... other sports/activities? Classroom is pretty big and everything is clean. Students help wipe down yoga mats if they did use one of the studios. Worth a try if you're thinking about it and definitely worth a try if you like building a stronger body, hammocks and nice pictures! (and alleviating shoulder pain if you're like me)
At the end of every class there's #airpow that you can try (optional)! Potentially my favorite section of the class where people learn something new, practice what they know, teach each other tips and tricks, and just a fun environment to be in. These airpows are pretty beginner friendly movements that you can learn and keep working on to get better at. Some instructors or students will continue with some extension moves/poses and I was able to spontaneously learn from them which is an accomplishing feeling (the attached image). Anyways, in the end everyone learns at their own pace so go in class thinking about what you want to improve on...
Read moreAir Lincoln Park is truly a gem! Every single class I’ve taken here has been fantastic—there hasn’t been a single one that didn’t leave me feeling stronger, more energized, and inspired.
The instructors are absolutely top-notch. Tracy and Shauna bring the perfect balance of motivation, expertise, and encouragement to every session. Their instruction is clear, challenging, and always delivered with positivity and genuine enthusiasm. You can tell they love what they do—and it shows.
Norah, the owner, is equally amazing. She’s incredibly responsive to questions and goes above and beyond to make members feel welcome and supported. One of the standout touches? She sends personal text messages to congratulate you on your progress. That level of care is rare and deeply appreciated.
The classes themselves are a brilliant blend of fun and challenge. Whether you’re newer to fitness or looking to level up your strength training, Air Lincoln Park offers a supportive, dynamic environment where you can thrive....
Read moreI think the concept is cool and the workout could add a ton of strength, flexibility, and balance to your life very quickly if you go regularly. The studio was clean and the staff was friendly. I’m giving it a 3 because in my experience when I sign up as new member for a foundational class I’ve usually gotten more one on one instruction to understand the basics of the workout and make sure that my form is good and that I don’t hurt myself. I went with a friend and we were mixed with regular attendees and felt really out of place and I was a bit embarrassed. Our instructor seemed a little confused, giving wrong instructions, and not working with the new people. My friend commented that she felt that the foundations class was truly not for all fitness levels because she wasn’t able to find modifications that worked for her to avoid injury and no one worked with her to help figure it out. In general, I just don’t recommend this to people unless they’re already in pretty good shape and a...
