overall this is a solid 3.5 for me, but with lack of half stars iâll go ahead and do four.
iâve been meaning to try this place for ages as it is on my bike ride home up Lincoln from my gym. finally decided to stop in today.
fun selection of sandwiches, and i enjoy that it is a small menu vs a gazillion options. went for the âbombay chuletâ as i really love some sweetness in my salty sandwiches and i am a fan of spicy food as well. got it to eat at the restaurant along with a topo chico.
wait time was very short considering it was right at lunch time, however it came in a to-go bag and wrapped. but that wasnât a big deal. the sandwich tasted good, but it was a bit difficult to discern all the flavours and the spicyness from the chilli crunch wasnât too hot sadly. i did add some extra hot honey that they have available on the table that spruced it all up a bit.
price-wise: this is pretty pricey for a sandwich, but not uncommon in chicago for similar experiences (e.g.: TriBeccaâs (which i love)). so iâd go back and try some of the other sammys.
the space is cute but can definitely use some paint and cleaning especially for the walls.
and the service was fine. a typical young kinda apathetic/uncharismatic person for front of house but generally helpful enough. i guess thatâs about as much as we can ask for these days. đ¤ˇđťââď¸
lastly â no alterations to the sandwiches â which i donât have a problem with, but i assume many will. i kinda appreciate it generally, though it can limit...

Truly, did not want to write this review but have had a difficult time resolving this issue. I ordered food on March 17th from their website instead of a 3rd party platform at 1:30pm and received an estimated delivery for 1:20-1:25pm. I got a text confirmation and email receipt. Didnât receive my order and waited until 1:30pm to give the restaurant a call, since it said the order was still at their location. I couldn't reach anyone so decided to wait and try them again in 5 minutes. Again, couldn't reach the restaurant.
I didn't think this was going to be an issue because I didn't see the charge show up on my bank account. BUT, I checked again a couple nights later and saw the charge on my bank statement. Again, didn't want to write the review because mistakes happen, especially in small and new businesses. So I tried to contact the restaurant through other means. I emailed the business to bring awareness to the issue, messaged with Mitchell on google and he said the issue would be resolved immediately. Then I called the business a couple of days later to follow up. Unfortunately, the issue has not been resolved and I have not received...
Read moreI canât eat pork and they wouldnât make the sandwich I wanted without prosciutto. They do not care about allergies or intolerances.
Response to the owner: The owner responded, claiming I am the only one star theyâve received. That is not true. I can see that somebody else had the same issue as me, in which the owner responded and claimed, similar to in this post, that that they âđŻ will modify for allergies or intolerances.â This is clearly a lie as can be seen from my experience. I nicely informed about my dietary restriction regarding pork and was declined. Claiming it to be a miscommunication seems unlikely based on the experience of othersâŚ
Moreover, the ownerâs comment about Subway doesnât really quite applyâŚI was merely asking to not put a certain meat on the sandwich. I wasnât asking for a different ingredient, extra of the other meat, or anything else. If the sandwiches are made fresh, it shouldnât be hard to NOT put a meat on the bread. So bizarre to say no to that. I worked at a sandwich shop myself for a summer and have never seen a request like that declined. Also, 50% of the sandwiches have pork,...
