We sailed down from Midland Canada at the bottom of Georgian Bay over 14 days. All of the harbor along the way we're great but I have to tell you that the Monroe Harbor was a special treat given the skyline of the city the festivities that took place around us including the air show and fireworks. But most of all I would like to commend the staff and the captain that piloted the tenders to fetch you to and from the shore. These folks gave excellent advice and recommendations where to eat where to drink and where to get your groceries. I would like to specially thank thank Mike who went above and beyond the call to assist me getting my two-week Provisions back to my boat using his own vehicle!! It’s the most IRL version of boating in Chicago. The tender captains remember you by name - both boats and sailors - and the short tender ride is a great way to interact with other sailors and eavesdrop on the harbor scuttlebutt. Every tender driver is the embodiment of a classic maritime stereotype and the harbor master is the iconic salty sailor protagonist. Dockwa didn't send my confirmation code and Monroe harbor didn't answer my phone/radio call so we had to circle in harbor waiting (mid week, late September... Not busy season).
