Van Buren Street — Local services in Chicago

The location is convenient but the station itself is very SHABBY. And there aren’t enough signs to guide your way within the station, so you can easily get lost on the platform. Usually not many people here except passengers getting on or off, thus no one to ask for directions. Would absolutely not recommend using this station without someone familiar with it. 50/50 chance the train will go to the right platform. You can't trust the signs, the announcements, or even the employees sometimes about which is the right platform. Its also just in terrible condition. Gets worse and worse with every passing day If you need to catch a metra or southshore train avoid this stop...
