REPOSTNG TO REMIND YOU: I have never been outright DISGUSTED by a business so much that I feel like warning you and sharing my experience.

I took my ring in to have the bands on each side removed. I was warned that if I removed the bands the main ring would have more wear on it, but I was not bothered by that chance. I was the only one in the shop after a few people had been helped and left (reference 1). The man behind the counter is using his magnifying glasses to inspect my ring. He points out that there’s some discoloration on a band (ref 2). I shortly explained I’ve used another jeweler in town to make and attach my bands. Throughout the 5 minutes of him looking at my ring, and us talking, that was the only remark he had (ref 3). He gives me a slip, tells me it will have to be cleaned and then they can start. I get a call in 2 days. They have cleaned my ring and now notice it has been drastically cut on the bottom prongs from the jeweler I went to previously when setting the bands. So much that the ring has no support underneath and also tells me it looks BENT. They want me to come look at it. I immediately did not have a good feeling about this.

We come in and wait for the ring. They say right away, “oh you got the call” “oh you’re the one we had to call”, the male chimes in to say that I might want to get a new ring. I am not amused at this point. They show me the GASH on my bottom prongs. It looks like someone took a nail file to it to emphasize a major cut, with obvious metal scrape marks left behind. The head of my ring is also drastically BENT. So much that it was noticeable right away and NOT how I knew my ring looked before.

I literally lost it as civilly as I could. I said it’s funny how on Saturday I dropped it off and it didn’t look like this and now conveniently this has happened? I asked how they didn’t notice it bent this much when they were staring at it for 5 minutes on Saturday. The guy was quick to say there were a lot of people in the shop. Okay refer to note #1. So then I ask how he had time to notice the discoloration, point it out, hold the ring and talk about it and not see it drastically bent? Ref #2. He was quick to say he only looked at it for a few seconds. HA. Up until this point I had let him talk his whole game. But when I continued to ask specific questions he would cut me off and continue to reiterate the same lie. I finally say “I let you finish without cutting you off, now are you gonna let me talk without being cut off?” I explain how I watched him with his magnifying glasses sit and stare at it as we discussed the ring and the discoloration and he wants me to believe either of us would not notice how BENT it was, like it is now? Ref #3. He couldn’t back track anymore so a lady worker stepped in to remind me of their reputation and why would they do such a thing? I ask how reputation has anything to do with how my ring has been handled here? She said “you must not be from Chickasha”. We obviously haven’t bought their lie and they are mad. They try to show us one picture they took from the top view of the ring and say, “look see how this is angled down. It was bent all along”. Why no side view pic then? Wouldn’t that prove so much more. They think this sad excuse of a picture is going to defend their statements.

But you’re right, I must not be from here because I refuse to be treated this way and lied to as well as having my property destroyed. I guess that gives me the liberty to warn all of you of what you’re walking into if you take a chance on this business. You pose a major risk of your jewelry being tampered with if you don’t have all your jewelry from them or not a major known member/family of the community. So please take pictures of all sides of your ring before giving it to any one.

I have had great experiences and awful experiences, it really seems to matter who is working the day you go in.

My recent visit was to pick up my gold necklace with a pendant that I have had 21 years, I needed the loop fixed. Not a big repair, it was reasonably priced and pretty fast. The issue I had was when I picked it up I hardly recognized my pendant, they had cleaned it so thoroughly that they scrubbed the enamel ware off! When I asked about it, the guy acted like it was because my pendant was so old, but it had the enamel ware on it when I dropped it off. Then he said it was because of the supersonic cleaner, that they have to use on all repairs ... then it must not have had enamel on it when I dropped it off. But hopefully they could fix it, if they have the right color...like pink is such a rare enamel color. I reluctantly left my pendant. I changed my mind and picked it back up about 20 minutes later. The jeweler assured me there was no issue about replacing the enamel ware! He made such an event about it that I didn't trust him, bit when I change my mind he acts like there was no potential problems at all.

Simply cannot recommend this place enough. Purchased my wife’s engagement and wedding band here, and both times the team went above and beyond to ensure we received the perfect ring. Not only did we feel as though they cared about finding us the ring we wanted, there was a personal aspect to it all that I feel is so often lacking in consumer interactions nowadays. They took great interest in our wedding and our story, and even offered recommendations on restaurants, hotels and other post wedding celebrations.

We occasionally find ourselves coming by for cleanings etc, and are always remembered and welcomed warmly and attentively. Not only this, but I find the pricing/value for money to be exceptional. Both pieces we have acquired have been beautifully constructed and expertly sourced. I would recommend Jay’s to absolutely anyone over any of the so-called “bigger” jewelry stores dotted throughout the...
